2026 Lamborghini Temerario Super Trofeo

By Lorenzo Bianchi

  • Successor to the Huracán Super Trofeo, debuting in 2027 global championships.

  • Powered by a 650 CV twin-turbo V8 with six-speed sequential gearbox.

  • Shares core components with the Temerario GT3, including chassis and transmission.

Lamborghini’s New Era of Racing

At Misano, under the sharp November light of the Lamborghini World Finals, the covers came off the 2026 Lamborghini Temerario Super Trofeo — the latest evolution of the brand’s long-running one-make race series machine.

Scheduled to make its competition debut in 2027 across Europe, Asia, and North America, this new model succeeds the Huracán Super Trofeo after a decade-long reign.

For Lamborghini, this unveiling marks more than just a model transition. It represents continuity in purpose — the pursuit of “fun-to-drive” purity that’s been central to Squadra Corse since 2009. CEO Stephan Winkelmann summed it up at the event: Lamborghini was never born to race, yet racing has become integral to its DNA. Over 1,300 drivers have competed in Super Trofeo events since inception — a testament to its reach and staying power.

Design and Engineering Precision

Derived from the Temerario GT3, which itself debuted at the Goodwood Festival of Speed earlier this year, the Super Trofeo version adopts a sharper focus on training and competition. It uses the same Hoer six-speed sequential gearbox as the GT3 and retains the structural integrity of its hybrid ALU/CFK chassis with a fully integrated FIA roll cage.

Power comes from a 650 CV V8 twin-turbo engine, adapted from the 800 CV hybrid setup found in the road-going Temerario Stradale but stripped of its electric components for weight and simplicity. This makes it pure in purpose — lighter, rawer, and built to teach young drivers the fundamentals of car control and race craft.

The mechanical package is complemented by a 12-point adjustable traction control system and ABS braking — configurable tools that let competitors fine-tune balance and grip across circuits. KW suspension, a Capristo exhaust, and BMC air filtration round out the technical partnerships that have long supported Lamborghini’s racing division.

A Platform for Future Racers

Rouven Mohr, Lamborghini’s Chief Technical Officer, described the Temerario Super Trofeo as “the pure racing evolution of the road car.” The car’s connection to the GT3 variant ensures a seamless progression for drivers moving up the ranks, allowing gentleman racers and emerging talents alike to adapt without a steep learning curve.

Inside, Lamborghini has also introduced Dinamica Infinity, a new 100% PES mono-component suede designed for sustainability and performance. Originally used on dashboard trims with the Super Trofeo, this material represents the meeting point of tactile precision and innovation.

Carrying the Super Trofeo Legacy Forward

When the Temerario Super Trofeo hits the grid in 2027, it will continue a lineage that began with the Gallardo Super Trofeo and matured through multiple Huracán evolutions. Over 560 races and 1,383 drivers later, Lamborghini’s customer racing story shows no signs of slowing.
