EV4 Expands Kia’s Australian EV Lineup
Kia Australia has officially launched the EV4 sedan, adding another body style to its growing electric portfolio alongside the EV3, EV5, EV6, and EV9. The 2026 Kia EV4 GT Line Australian Version represents the most comprehensively equipped expression of the new model, positioned above the Air and Earth grades and aimed at buyers seeking both extended range and a more premium presentation.
Priced at $64,690 RRP, the EV4 GT Line enters the market as part of a three-grade lineup, all built on Kia’s E-GMP electric platform and all focused on efficiency rather than outright performance theatrics.
Exterior Design Driven by Aerodynamics
The EV4’s shape makes its priorities clear. The long-tail sedan profile is designed to cut cleanly through the air, delivering a drag coefficient of just 0.23Cd, the lowest of any Kia to date. That focus on airflow is not subtle. Active air flaps in the front bumper adjust automatically to balance cooling and aerodynamic efficiency depending on conditions.
The GT Line is visually distinguished by Kia’s Star Map lighting with projection LED headlights made up of 12 individual cubes, along with body-coloured winged bumper elements and chiseled front surfacing that references the brand’s Tiger Nose motif. Along the sides, gloss black detailing and 19-inch black and machined-finish alloy wheels add contrast without overwhelming the clean body surfaces. At the rear, the GT Line continues the theme with a body-coloured bumper and diagonal reflectors that give the car a planted, technical look.
Interior Design and Cabin Technology
Inside, the EV4 GT Line follows Kia’s familiar ‘home-like’ EV interior approach. The Integrated Panoramic Display, which combines a 12.3-inch multimedia screen, a 5-inch climate interface, and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, dominates the dashboard. Large buttons are kept for frequently used functions, and the layout feels purposeful and serene.
The GT Line models have ventilated front seats, an integrated memory system for the driver, and full synthetic leather upholstery. While Relax Mode dims screens, modifies climate settings, and creates a quiet pause during charging or lengthy trips, Premium Relaxation seat function enables both front seats to recline at the touch of a button. An eight-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, head-up display, ambient lighting, and wireless phone charging round out the cabin experience.
Electric Powertrain and Driving Range
All EV4 variants use a single front-mounted electric motor producing 150kW and 283Nm. In the GT Line, that motor is paired with an 81.4kWh lithium-ion NCM battery, delivering a WLTP-rated driving range of up to 612km. Acceleration from 0 to 100km/h is quoted at 7.8 seconds.
Charging performance is competitive, with the GT Line capable of charging from 10 to 80 per cent in as little as 31 minutes using a 350kW DC fast charger. Kia has also confirmed that the EV4 benefits from a localised Australian ride and handling program, with suspension, steering, and damping tuned specifically for local road conditions.
Positioning in a Growing Segment
The 2026 Kia EV4 GT Line Australian Version positions itself as a long-range, design-led electric sedan for buyers who value efficiency, comfort, and technology over aggressive performance. In a market increasingly crowded with electric SUVs, its sedan form and aerodynamic focus give it a clear point of difference.
