2026 Jensen Interceptor GTX

The Jensen Interceptor GTX is a new track only prototype rather than a restomod, with around 80 percent of its exterior intended to influence future road cars.
Its supercharged 6.8 liter V8 produces 960 hp and drives the rear wheels through a six speed sequential transaxle.
An aluminum chassis and body combine with double wishbone suspension, adjustable Nitron dampers and more than 350 kg of downforce.
The 2026 Jensen Interceptor GTX brings a familiar British name back in a rather unfamiliar form. Instead of another restoration or modernized classic, Jensen International has created an entirely new, front engined track prototype intended to demonstrate the engineering behind a future family of road going Interceptors.
There is still a link to what comes next. Jensen says roughly 80 percent of the Jensen Interceptor GTX's exterior form is intended to carry over to those future models.
New Body Keeps an Interceptor Reference
The Jensen Interceptor GTX uses a hand formed aluminum body over a bonded aluminum chassis. Its proportions retain the front engined layout associated with traditional grand tourers, but the aerodynamic hardware makes its track purpose immediately apparent.
The most obvious addition is the large carbon rear wing, positioned across the Interceptor's recognizable wraparound rear glass. It works with a front splitter, flat floor and rear diffuser to generate more than 350 kg of downforce.
Jensen has not supplied exterior dimensions, wheelbase or vehicle weight in the provided material.
Track Cabin Removes Unnecessary Screens
There is little attempt to disguise the Interceptor Jensen Interceptor GTX's prototype role inside. Carbon competition seats, six point harnesses and a roll cage replace the equipment expected from a conventional luxury Jensen GT.
Instrumentation is handled by a MoTeC display, while additional screens have deliberately been left out. It is a focused layout, quite different from the more luxurious direction planned for later Interceptor road cars.
Supercharged V8 Sends 960 HP Rearward
The mechanical specification is more revealing. A GM sourced 6.2 liter V8 forms the starting point, but Texas based Late Model Engines expands it to 6.8 liters and adds a 2.65 liter supercharger.
Output in the Jensen Interceptor GTX is 960 hp, or 973 PS. Jensen says the engine can support as much as 1,200 hp and more than 1,100 lb ft of torque, although those higher figures are not the Jensen Interceptor GTX's stated production output.
Power reaches the rear wheels through a carbon fiber driveshaft and rear mounted six speed sequential transaxle. Drivers can shift using paddles or a conventional lever.
Double wishbone suspension and three way adjustable Nitron dampers sit beneath the aluminum structure. Jensen has also retained hydraulic power steering.
GTX Previews Road Going Interceptors
The Jensen Interceptor GTX itself is track only, but Jensen's longer term plan moves back toward the grand touring market. A street legal Jensen Interceptor GTR is planned first, followed by a more luxurious Jensen Interceptor GT intended to compete with Aston Martin models. The supplied material also says future road cars are planned with four seats and potentially four doors.
Those cars are also expected to move away from the sequential gearbox. Jensen says conventional automatic and six speed manual transmissions are planned for future street versions.
