2026 Jeep Compass EV 4xe Brings Electric Power Off Road
Jeep's latest Compass isn't trying to reinvent what the badge stands for. Instead, the 2026 Jeep Compass EV 4xe takes familiar Jeep values and moves them into the electric era. It's still designed for trails, rough weather and everyday driving, but now it does the job without a combustion engine.
Orders have opened across Europe, adding another fully electric option to the growing Compass lineup. Built in Italy and developed as a global model, the new 4xe sits at the top of the range thanks to its combination of all-wheel drive, long electric range and genuine off-road hardware.
A Familiar Jeep With More Purpose
From a distance, it still looks every bit like a Compass. The upright proportions remain, as does Jeep's signature seven-slot grille, which is illuminated on selected versions. None of the styling feels exaggerated.
Closer inspection reveals several functional touches. The front bumper uses durable black cladding to better resist scrapes off road, while the suspension sits 10 mm higher than standard models. It gives the SUV a tougher stance without making it look overstyled. That's very much in keeping with Jeep's design philosophy, where appearance usually follows function.
Made for Mud as Much as Motorways
The biggest changes aren't immediately visible.
Extra ground clearance improves approach, breakover and departure angles, while the Compass EV 4xe can drive through water up to 480 mm deep. Jeep has also engineered the rear electric drive to deliver as much as 3,100 Nm at the wheels through a dedicated reduction gear, helping maintain traction even if the front axle loses grip. It's the kind of detail that matters once the pavement ends.
There's everyday practicality too. The cabin offers up to 550 litres of luggage space, along with plenty of storage areas spread throughout the interior.
An Interior That Doesn't Mind Getting Dirty
The cabin feels designed for people who actually use their vehicles outdoors.
The polyurethane seat upholstery is tougher than conventional fabric and easier to wipe clean after a muddy weekend. Scratch-resistant rear seatbacks help protect the cabin when loading camping equipment, bicycles or pets, while heavy-duty rubber floor mats are there to deal with wet boots and loose dirt.
Every Compass also comes with Level 2 driver assistance, while the 4xe version adds Jeep's Selec-Terrain system with dedicated modes for snow, sand, mud and demanding off-road conditions.
Electric Performance Without Leaving Capability Behind
Power comes from two electric motors producing a combined 375 hp. The front unit develops 157 kW, while a Jeep-specific rear motor contributes another 132 kW. Energy is supplied by a 96.1 kWh usable battery, giving the 2026 Jeep Compass EV 4xe a WLTP driving range of more than 600 km. Under suitable conditions, charging from 20 to 80 percent takes around 27 minutes.
Electric SUVs are becoming increasingly common, but few are built with genuine off-road ability as part of the package. That's where the Compass EV 4xe sets itself apart. Rather than abandoning Jeep's traditional strengths, it carries them into an all-electric future.
