The 2026 Jaecoo 7 SHS H expands the range
The 2026 Jaecoo 7 SHS-H arrives as a new direction for the brand’s growing SUV lineup. It’s the first time the model gets a full hybrid setup, offering an alternative to the existing plug-in version.
This one is aimed at buyers who want some level of electrification but don’t want to deal with charging cables. It runs as a self-charging hybrid, keeping things simple while still improving efficiency and day-to-day usability.
Familiar SUV shape with no major changes
On the outside, not much has changed. The SHS-H keeps the same proportions as the standard Jaecoo 7, which already leans into that upright, slightly rugged SUV look.
It’s more about presence than detail. The stance is tall, the body surfaces are clean, and the overall shape feels designed for both urban driving and light off-road use. There aren’t major visual cues separating it from other versions, which makes sense given the focus here is on the powertrain.
Interior leans on usability and tech
Inside, the SHS-H splits into two trims. Even the entry-level Pure model comes reasonably well equipped. There’s a 13.2-inch infotainment screen, wireless smartphone connectivity, and dual-zone climate control as standard.
Step into the Deluxe version and the cabin feels a bit more finished. The screen grows to 14.8 inches, materials shift to eco-leather, and the sound system is upgraded.
There are small touches that stand out, like a refrigerated centre console. Not essential, but useful in day-to-day driving. It adds to the sense that this car is built with regular use in mind rather than just spec-sheet appeal.
Hybrid system focuses on efficiency and ease
Under the bonnet, the setup combines a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine with a self-charging hybrid system. Total output sits at 224 PS, which is enough to keep the SUV feeling responsive without pushing it into performance territory.
Acceleration to 62 mph takes 8.3 seconds, while top speed is listed at 112 mph.
The technical aspect is more fascinating. The engine uses a number of systems, including a Miller cycle and thermal management strategies, to boost efficiency. It is therefore said to have a 44.5% thermal efficiency and, under normal operating conditions, produces relatively little noise.
It provides a helpful advantage for longer trips without the need to plan charging stops, with a fuel economy of up to 53 mpg on the WLTP cycle.

The 2026 Jaecoo 7 SHS-H joins a competitive market full of well-known brands' hybrid SUVs. Pricing and equipment are what give it an advantage. Starting from £29,195, it undercuts a number of rivals while offering a similar level of performance and tech.
For Jaecoo, it’s another step in building out a broader lineup. For buyers, it’s a more accessible way into electrified driving without changing habits too much.
