2026 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid AWD Night

By Lorenzo Bianchi

  • New Night trim adds blacked-out exterior details to the Tucson Hybrid lineup.

  • Based on the range-topping Limited trim and priced from $44,175.

  • Hyundai also introduces more affordable front-wheel-drive SE and SEL Hybrid models.

Hyundai's best seller gets a new personality

The Hyundai Tucson has become a familiar sight on roads across North America, and for good reason. It's practical, efficient, and packed with technology. For 2026, Hyundai is adding something a little different to the formula.

Called the 2026 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid AWD Night, the new model builds on the top-tier Limited trim but swaps bright accents for a darker, more understated look. It arrives as part of a broader expansion of the Tucson Hybrid lineup, which now includes additional front-wheel-drive variants aimed at improving affordability.

While the mechanical package remains unchanged, the visual transformation gives Hyundai's best-selling SUV a noticeably different character.

Blacked-out details reshape the Tucson's appearance

The standard Tucson already stands out with its angular bodywork and distinctive front lighting. The Night trim leans into that design language by removing much of the bright exterior trim.

Gloss-black 19-inch alloy wheels immediately catch the eye, especially when paired with the matching mirror caps, window surrounds, and bumper accents. Looking through Hyundai's official images, the treatment works particularly well on darker colors such as Ash Black and Ecotronic Gray, where the black elements visually blend into the bodywork and create a cleaner overall appearance.

Even in Creamy White Pearl, the contrast creates a more purposeful look than the standard Tucson Hybrid.

Nothing about the redesign feels excessive. Instead, Hyundai appears to have focused on subtle changes that alter the SUV's personality without changing its overall shape.

Premium equipment remains intact

One of the more interesting aspects of the Night trim is what Hyundai chose not to remove.

Because the model is based on the Limited grade, buyers still receive a generous list of premium features. Leather-trimmed seating surfaces, onboard navigation, a 12-inch head-up display, Bose premium audio, wireless charging, and a heated steering wheel all carry over unchanged.

The cabin itself remains largely familiar, although the addition of a black headliner reinforces the darker theme introduced outside.

That approach helps the Night trim feel more like a premium appearance package than a separate model.

Expanding the hybrid lineup

The Night edition may grab the headlines, but Hyundai's bigger move could be happening elsewhere in the range.

For 2026, the company is introducing new front-wheel-drive SE and SEL Hybrid trims. Starting at $30,950 and $32,400 respectively, the new variants lower the entry point into the Tucson Hybrid lineup while retaining the efficiency and capability that have helped make the model one of Hyundai's strongest sellers.

It's a move that broadens the SUV's appeal at both ends of the market.

Style becomes the selling point

Unlike many special editions that introduce mechanical upgrades, the Tucson Hybrid AWD Night focuses almost entirely on appearance.

That isn't necessarily a criticism. Hyundai already has a well-established hybrid package, and the Night trim gives buyers another way to personalize the vehicle without sacrificing equipment or comfort.

For customers who like the Tucson's practicality but want something that looks a little less conventional, the new blackout treatment may be exactly what they've been waiting for.
