A Farewell Edition for a Modern Hot Hatch
The 2026 Hyundai i20 N Shadow Edition has been unveiled as the final version of the current-generation i20 N, bringing a handful of exclusive cosmetic upgrades to one of Australia's most talked-about hot hatches.
Limited to just 100 units, the special edition arrives as a send-off for a model that has spent the last five years building a loyal enthusiast following. Hyundai says the Shadow Edition celebrates the character of the i20 N while offering buyers a more distinctive take on the familiar performance hatch.
Available exclusively in Australia, the model can be ordered in Atlas White or Phantom Black.
Bronze Details Set It Apart
At first glance, the changes are subtle, but they give the i20 N Shadow Edition a noticeably different appearance.
The most obvious feature is a set of 18-inch matte bronze flow-forged alloy wheels. The bronze finish contrasts strongly against both exterior colours and is carried through to the lower door decals. Black wheel nuts further reinforce the darker visual theme.
Rather than adding aggressive body modifications, Hyundai has focused on small details that enthusiasts are likely to notice. The result is a cleaner, more understated look that still stands apart from the standard i20 N.
Each vehicle also receives an individually numbered plaque, highlighting the model's limited-production status.
Driver Focus Remains Central
Inside, the Shadow Edition keeps the familiar driver-focused layout of the regular i20 N while introducing a few exclusive touches.
The steering wheel is wrapped in Alcantara and features Performance Blue stitching along with a matching top-centre marker. The manual gear shifter also receives an Alcantara finish, adding a more tactile feel to the cabin.
Hyundai has also fitted tailored rubber floor mats inspired by the tread pattern of the Pirelli P Zero tyres fitted to the car.
These updates do not dramatically alter the interior, but they fit naturally with the i20 N's enthusiast-oriented personality.
Familiar Performance Package
Mechanically, the Shadow Edition remains unchanged.
That means buyers still get the combination that helped establish the i20 N's reputation: a turbocharged 1.6-litre engine paired with a six-speed manual transmission and a chassis developed with driver engagement as a priority.
Hyundai continues to position the car as a performance hatch that feels equally comfortable on a daily commute or a weekend track session. The company notes that the model's analogue driving character has been a major part of its appeal since launch.
A Limited Opportunity for Enthusiasts
With only 100 examples planned, the 2026 Hyundai i20 N Shadow Edition is aimed squarely at enthusiasts looking for a more exclusive version of an already sought-after model.
Pricing starts at $41,500 MLP for Atlas White, while Phantom Black is priced from $42,095 MLP.
As special editions go, the Shadow Edition doesn't attempt to reinvent the i20 N. Instead, it serves as a final salute to a hot hatch that earned its reputation through simplicity, involvement, and a focus on the driving experience.
