The 2.0 litre turbo petrol PHEV produces a combined 310kW and 750Nm through a nine speed hybrid automatic transmission.
A 33.1kWh battery provides up to 115km of NEDC electric range, with 110kW DC charging and up to 1,037km combined range.
Both Lux and Ultra use mechanical four wheel drive, an electronic rear differential lock and a low range transfer case.
The 2026 GWM Cannon Hi4 T PHEV adds another electrified dual cab ute to GWM's Australian range, sitting alongside the larger Cannon Alpha Hi4 T. Pre orders are open, with vehicles expected in dealerships from mid October 2026.
Pricing starts at $49,990 driveaway for eligible ABN buyers in Lux form, temporarily reduced to $47,990 with a $2,000 bonus until October 31. Private buyers start at $50,990, or $48,990 with the same offer. Ultra pricing begins at $53,990 for ABN buyers.
Black Details Give The Cannon A Tougher Look
Both grades receive the same dark exterior treatment. The front grille, mirror caps, door handles, side steps and sports bar are finished in black, joined by black roof rails and 18 inch black alloy wheels. Red brake calipers provide the main color contrast.
LED headlights with daytime running lights, sequential indicators and LED taillights are standard. At the back is a one piece tailgate and spray on tub liner.
The Cannon measures 5,416mm long, 1,947mm wide and 1,884mm tall, riding on a 3,230mm wheelbase. Ground clearance is 232mm, while GWM quotes a 500mm wading depth.
Large Coffee OS Screen Leads The Cabin
Inside, the Cannon becomes the first GWM sold in Australia with a 15.6 inch HD touchscreen running Coffee OS. The system supports over the air updates, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A 10.25 inch digital instrument cluster sits ahead of the driver.
Lux includes Comfort Tek leather seats, wireless phone charging and six speaker audio. Ultra moves to leather accented upholstery and adds heated and ventilated front seats, power adjustment, a sunroof, heated steering wheel, ambient lighting and a 360 degree camera.
Hi4 T Delivers 310kW And 750Nm
The powertrain combines a 2.0 litre turbo petrol engine with an electric motor. The engine contributes 180kW and 380Nm, while the motor produces 130kW and 495Nm. Combined outputs are 310kW and 750Nm.
A nine speed hybrid automatic works with mechanical four wheel drive, a low range transfer case and electronic rear differential lock. Snow, Mud, Sand, 4H and 4L modes are included.
The 33.1kWh battery provides up to 115km of electric only driving under NEDC testing. DC charging peaks at 110kW, with 30 to 80 percent quoted at 18 minutes. GWM claims up to 1,037km from a full tank and charge.
Towing And V2L Add Practical Utility
Braked towing capacity is 3,500kg and payload is 835kg. Vehicle to Load functionality supplies up to 6kW through 230V outlets in the tub, allowing the battery to run tools or camping equipment.
That mix places the Cannon Hi4 T between everyday electric commuting and conventional ute duties, while giving GWM two plug in hybrid ute offerings in Australia.
