A Sharper, Darker Take on the G70 Formula
Genesis has introduced the 2026 G70 Prestige Graphite, a limited-availability trim that leans into darker finishes, sport-minded details, and a more focused visual identity. It’s still unmistakably G70 in stance—compact, taut, and slightly rear-biased—but the added graphite elements give the sedan a more assertive character straight out of the box.
The proportions remain familiar: short overhangs, the signature Crest Grille, and the tucked-in waist that has helped define the updated G70’s design language. In this specification, the darker chrome finish around the grille and windows pulls the visual weight lower, making the car look planted even while standing still.
Details That Tighten the Visual Edge
The Prestige Graphite treatment doesn’t rely on loud changes. Instead, it builds with subtle layers. Black mirror caps, shadowed trim pieces, and a specific set of 19-inch multi-spoke wheels set the tone. The wheels themselves are finished in a darker metallic shade, backed by black brake calipers marked with contrasting red script—one of the very few flashes of color on the outside.
Two exterior colors anchor the palette: Ceres Blue and Vatna Gray. Both sit well with the graphite theme, though the gray option leans into the sedan’s understated, almost anonymous presence. The overall impression is of a sports sedan designed to reward a closer look rather than demand attention.
Performance Fundamentals Remain Intact
Under the hood sits the familiar 3.3-liter twin-turbocharged V6, paired with either rear- or all-wheel drive. Power figures are carried over from the standard G70 V6 models [Inference], but the Graphite trim receives chassis refinements to better suit the more performance-oriented positioning.
A sport-tuned Electronic Controlled Suspension drops the ride height by 10 mm, sharpening weight transfer and giving the G70 a more immediate feel in steering response. It’s not a radical transformation, yet it pushes the sedan closer to the territory occupied by cars like the Audi S4 and BMW M340i—models that appeal to drivers seeking everyday usability with a distinctly athletic edge.
Interior: Dark Theme, Bright Details
The cabin is where the Prestige Graphite theme comes through most vividly. Genesis uses Ultramarine Blue Nappa Leather with orange contrast stitching, a pairing that feels far more bespoke than the segment typically offers. A microfiber suede headliner adds to the layered texture, while the 12.3-inch 3D instrument cluster receives unique start-up graphics exclusive to this trim.
It’s a space designed to feel crafted rather than assembled—a distinction Genesis continues to leverage as one of its strongest brand qualities.
Positioning the Graphite in the Lineup
The Prestige Graphite sits near the top of the G70 range, offered at $56,900 for RWD and $58,900 for AWD, plus a $1,395 destination charge. It’s aimed at buyers who want a more expressive, driver-centric sedan without stepping into full performance-badge territory.
Genesis plans limited distribution, which will likely add appeal for owners who appreciate rarity without the extremes of a special-edition model.
