2026 Ford GT Mk IV

By Lorenzo Bianchi

  • The 2025 Ford GT Mk IV delivers extreme performance with over 800 hp from an enlarged twin‑turbo EcoBoost V6, paired with a race-spec transmission and bespoke suspension.

  • Its "long-tail" carbon fibre body, extended wheelbase, and advanced aerodynamics generate up to 2,045 kg of downforce, making it one of the most track-capable GTs to date.

  • Limited to 67 hand-built units at a starting price of $1.7 million, sold through a selective application process and supported by a bespoke driving program.

Design Unleashed for the Track

In creating the GT Mk IV, Ford Performance alongside its technical partner Multimatic effectively removed every regulatory constraint. The result: a supercar freed from road-going compromises. With an elongated carbon-fibre silhouette and long-tail design, the Mk IV channels aerodynamic evolution directly from the GT40 Mk IV that won Le Mans in 1967. The stretched wheelbase adds visual impact and enhances stability at speed

Power and Performance That Elevate the GT

Under the sculpted body resides a specially engineered 3.8‑litre twin‑turbo EcoBoost V6, adjusted for greater displacement to deliver well over 800 hp. The engine connects to a race-derived transmission, offering pace and engagement beyond the GT’s prior versions.

The ensuing performance is outstanding. At 150 mph, the car produces over 1,088 kg of downforce; at 200 mph, this rises dramatically to 2,045 kg. With a curb weight of around 1,250 kg, the Mk IV delivers cornering grip several times its weight—a mechanical partner for any race track.

Chassis, Suspension, and Driver Experience

The GT Mk IV chassis introduces innovations in both structure and dynamics. The extended structure houses Multimatic’s Adaptive Spool Valve (ASV) dampers, adjustable on the fly to provide differing levels of stiffness and feedback directly from the cockpit

Inside, components echo motorsport architecture—racing-style seats, lightweight materials, and driver controls designed for track immersion. Brembo carbon‑carbon brakes bring stop-level performance that matches the car’s acceleration and downforce levels.
