2026 Ford F-150 Lightning STX
By Lorenzo Bianchi September 9, 2025
The STX trim lowers the entry price for the Lightning lineup while keeping strong performance and useful features.
Range options stretch from 240 miles to 320 miles depending on the battery pack.
Towing maxes out at 10,000 pounds with the extended-range setup.
A New Door Into the Lightning Line
The 2026 Ford F-150 Lightning STX is Ford’s way of telling buyers: you don’t need to go high on the trim ladder to get into an electric F-150. It’s positioned below the XLT and Lariat, priced to be the gateway model for people curious about EV trucks but wary of sticker shock.
Ford has been careful with this one. It still looks like an F-150, still works like one, and still carries the kind of specs that keep it relevant. The difference is in the packaging: less chrome, simpler finishes, and a price tag that starts around $54,995 before incentives.
Design: Familiar Truck, STX Attitude
From a distance, you’d be forgiven for thinking this was any other F-150. The boxy profile is intact, the stance is muscular, and the bed is every bit as practical. Look closer and the STX details emerge: a blacked-out grille treatment, 18-inch machined wheels, body-colored bumpers, and fewer of the shiny extras you’ll see on the Lariat.
Ford F-150 Lightning is still modern, with LED headlamps and the signature light bar across the front fascia. The bed gets Ford’s useful BoxLink system, plenty of tie-downs, and the option of a spray-in liner. It’s a straightforward, work-oriented look—just what you’d expect from an STX badge.
Power and Range
Don’t let the “entry” label fool you. The Ford F-150 Lightning STX runs Ford’s dual-motor, all-wheel-drive setup, good for 462 horsepower and a massive 775 lb-ft of torque. That means the truck moves with authority, no matter the trim level.
Range depends on battery choice. With the standard pack, expect about 240 miles per charge. Opt for the extended-range pack, and that jumps to 320 miles. Charging is quick enough by current standards—15 to 80 percent in roughly 40 minutes on a 150 kW DC fast charger.
Capability: Built to Work
The Ford F-150 Lightning STX isn’t just for commutes. Payload capacity is 2,000 pounds, and towing is rated at 7,700 pounds with the standard pack. Go extended-range and towing climbs to 10,000 pounds—right in line with many gasoline F-150s.
Ford’s clever Pro Power Onboard system is standard, offering 2.4 kW of power through outlets in the bed and frunk. An upgrade to 9.6 kW turns the truck into a rolling generator—ideal for worksites or tailgates.
Inside the Cabin
The Ford F-150 Lightning’s interior isn’t flashy, but it’s functional. Cloth seats, durable surfaces, and plenty of storage options keep things straightforward. The rear bench folds flat if extra cargo space is needed inside the cab.
Front and center sits a 12-inch SYNC 4 touchscreen, paired with a 12-inch digital driver display. Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and over-the-air software updates are all baked in. Driver assistance comes from the Co-Pilot360 suite—lane-keeping, blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control—but BlueCruise hands-free driving is left on the options list.
