Diesel Muscle with Everyday Flexibility
The biggest change for the 2026 Volcano Diesel is under the hood. The 2.2-litre MultiJet II engine now pushes out 200 hp and 450 Nm of torque, a healthy jump over the older setup. The torque figure arrives early, at just 1,500 rpm, which should make the pickup feel relaxed in town and strong when hauling. Fiat quotes around 9.6 seconds for the 0–100 km/h run — not sports car quick, but brisk for a compact-framed truck that’s also tuned to tow and carry.
Power goes through a 9-speed automatic gearbox and a selectable 4×4 system. Hill-descent control and the added torque mean the Toro Volcano Diesel doesn’t shy away from rougher terrain, even though most of its miles will still be clocked in the city.
Exterior Tweaks Keep it Current
Fiat hasn’t reinvented the Toro’s look, but the details are sharper. The daytime running lights are now segmented LED clusters, replacing the continuous light bars of before. Full-LED headlamps and taillights bring consistency front and rear, while the bumpers are broader and give the pickup a stronger stance.
At the back, the tailgate is neater with more horizontal lines, and the bumper has been reshaped. Wheel options range between 17 and 18 inches, depending on spec. Dimensions remain steady at 4,950 mm long, 1,845 mm wide, and a 2,990 mm wheelbase — still compact enough for city use but with proportions that deliver presence.
Cabin and Equipment Updates
Inside, the Toro Volcano Diesel leans into comfort and convenience. Rear disc brakes and an electronic parking brake with Auto Hold are now standard. The digital instrument cluster is a 7-inch unit with clearer graphics, and the vertical 10.1-inch Uconnect display continues as the centerpiece, now with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The kit list includes wireless charging, rain and fog sensors, cruise control, and both front and rear parking sensors. These don’t change the truck’s core role but do raise the day-to-day experience, especially for buyers who split time between work and family duties.
The Toro Volcano Diesel still delivers where it matters for pickup buyers. Payload is rated at up to 1,000 kg, while the cargo box offers 820 litres of space. Certain trims stretch that to 1,225 litres with a load extender. These numbers make it a versatile middle-ground option: enough for real utility work, but without the bulk of full-size competitors.
For 2026, Fiat nudged pricing slightly across the range. The Volcano Diesel AT9 now lists at R$210,490, while the upscale Ranch Diesel commands R$228,490. That keeps the Volcano positioned neatly in the middle — above the flex-fuel trims but still below the most luxurious options. The modest increase of R$2,000 compared with last year reflects the added kit and stronger engine.
