A familiar SUV with a clear theme
The 2026 Dodge Durango America250 Edition doesn’t try to hide what it stands for.
Revealed at the 2026 New York International Auto Show, it marks the 250th anniversary of the United States. That theme runs through almost every detail, inside and out.
From a distance, it still reads as a standard Durango. The proportions, the stance, the overall presence — all of that remains unchanged. But look closer, and the differences start to show.
The exterior graphics do most of the talking. Dual stripes run across the body, filled with a star pattern and outlined with blue accents. There are also America250 badges and decals placed around the vehicle, tying everything back to the same idea.
It’s not subtle, but it’s not meant to be.
Stance stays rooted in muscle SUV territory
The Durango’s proportions haven’t been altered for this edition.
It remains a three-row SUV with a wide, planted stance and a slightly aggressive front end. The 20-inch Black Noise wheels help reinforce that look, especially when paired with the darker exterior colours.
There’s still a sense of weight and presence to it. That hasn’t changed. What has changed is how the details sit on top of that base.
The overall shape is doing the same job it always has — carrying the more expressive elements without feeling overworked.
Interior adds detail without losing function
Inside is where the upgrade feels more noticeable.
For the first time on a Durango GT, premium touches usually reserved for higher trims are included here. Black Laguna leather seats set the tone, with blue perforation running through the inserts.
There’s also an American flag embossed into the seatbacks. Red and white stitching runs across the cabin, while the steering wheel carries a full tricolour finish.
Demonic Red seat belts stand out immediately. They’re not subtle, but they fit the theme.
Carbon-fibre-style appliqués appear across parts of the interior, adding a slightly more technical edge to what is otherwise a heritage-focused design.
Choice of V6 or HEMI V8 power
Mechanically, the Durango America250 Edition keeps things straightforward.
The base GT Plus AWD model uses a 3.6-litre Pentastar V6, producing 295 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. For those wanting more, the GT HEMI Plus and GT HEMI Premium trims bring a 5.7-litre V8 with 360 horsepower.
That range gives buyers a choice. More efficiency on one side, more character on the other.
The underlying setup remains familiar, which is likely the point.
Practical features remain intact
Despite the themed design, the Durango doesn’t lose its everyday usability.
Heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and remote start are all included. There’s also a 7-inch driver display, adaptive cruise control, and forward collision warning.
For buyers who need more capability, the optional Tow N Go package on HEMI models brings towing capacity up to 8,700 pounds.
It’s still a working SUV first. The special edition details sit on top of that foundation rather than replacing it.
Positioned as a commemorative edition
The 2026 Dodge Durango America250 Edition sits as a limited celebration model.
Pricing starts at $49,590 for the GT Plus AWD version, rising to $54,270 for the HEMI Premium variant.
It doesn’t aim to change what the Durango is. Instead, it adds a layer of identity tied to a specific moment.
For some buyers, that connection will matter as much as the hardware underneath.
