A different kind of special edition
Most special editions add a new paint color, some unique wheels, and call it a day.
The 2026 Denza Z9GT Chopard Edition takes a different route. Revealed as part of a collaboration with Swiss luxury house Chopard, the car was created for a charity gala held during the Cannes Film Festival, where it changed hands for €700,000. That's a remarkable figure when compared with the regular Z9GT, which starts at €117,500 in Europe.
From the outset, this feels less like a trim package and more like a collector's piece.
The details matter more than the bodywork
Anyone familiar with the standard Z9GT will recognize the shape immediately.
The long roofline, low stance, and shooting brake proportions remain untouched. Denza hasn't attempted to reinvent the car visually. Instead, the differences appear in the details.
Gold accents have been applied to the wheels, brake calipers, and lower side skirts. In another context that might sound excessive. Looking at the official images, though, the treatment is surprisingly restrained. The metallic highlights catch the eye without dominating the design.
It's the sort of modification that's easy to miss from a distance and impossible to ignore once spotted.
Chopard's influence is strongest inside
The cabin is where the collaboration really comes into focus.
Amethyst-inspired trim pieces reference Chopard's jewelry collections, while bespoke embroidery appears throughout the interior. The luxury brand's signature "C" logo has been stitched into the headrests and even appears in the illuminated welcome projection beneath the doors.
Small touches continue across the cabin. The wireless charging area carries Chopard branding, and the logo has also found its way into the central display interface.
None of those changes alter how the car drives, but that's not really the point here.
Performance wasn't part of the brief
Interestingly, Denza left the mechanical package alone.
Underneath the luxury detailing sits the same three-motor electric drivetrain found in the standard Z9GT. Combined output remains at 850 kW, while the claimed 0-100 km/h sprint takes 2.7 seconds.
That decision says quite a lot about the project. Denza clearly felt the existing performance credentials were already strong enough. The Chopard Edition isn't chasing more power. It's chasing exclusivity.
A car built around the experience
The vehicle itself isn't the only bespoke element.
Chopard created a matching pair of watches as part of the package, while leather designer Shiro produced a custom luggage set specifically for the project. Together, they turn the car into something closer to a curated luxury collection.
Whether Denza produces additional collaborations remains unknown. For now, the Z9GT Chopard Edition stands as one of the more unusual partnerships to emerge from the growing premium EV space, bringing together a Chinese performance EV and a Swiss luxury house on one of the world's most glamorous stages.
