Hybrid G 150 4X4 Technical Layout
The 2026 Dacia Duster III Hybrid G-150 4X4 Extreme forms part of Dacia’s 2026 powertrain expansion, introducing a system that combines hybridisation, LPG flex-fuel capability and all-wheel drive in a single package.
At the front, a 1.2-litre 48V mild-hybrid petrol engine produces 103 kW (140 hp). A rear-mounted electric motor contributes up to 23 kW (31 hp). Combined output reaches 113 kW (154 hp), with 230 Nm from the combustion engine and up to 87 Nm delivered by the electric motor on the rear axle.
The combustion engine is paired with a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox featuring steering-wheel paddles. The rear motor operates through a dedicated two-speed gearbox and a disengageable rear axle. In first gear, the system prioritises high torque at low speeds. At higher speeds, the second ratio allows the motor to maintain traction at up to 140 km/h.
The 0.84 kWh 48V lithium-ion battery self-charges while driving. In urban cycles, the Duster III Hybrid G-150 4X4 can remain in all-electric mode for up to 60% of driving time.
Efficiency and Operating Range
The Duster hybrid G-150 4X4 is positioned as a direct evolution of the previous mild hybrid 130 4X4. Compared with that ICE offering, CO₂ emissions are reduced by 20g, while running costs fall by 30%.
Fuel consumption is quoted at 7.2–7.1 l/100 km in LPG mode and 5.9 l/100 km in petrol mode. CO₂ figures range from 117–115 g/km on LPG and 134–133 g/km on petrol.
Two 50-litre fuel tanks — one petrol, one LPG — allow a combined WLTP range of up to 1,500 km without refuelling.
In markets where LPG remains competitively priced, that range underlines the model’s cost-conscious positioning.
All Wheel Drive and Terrain Management
The rear electric motor redefines the Duster’s 4X4 logic. Torque is sent instantly to the rear axle when grip loss is detected. In 2WD mode, the rear axle can disengage to minimise friction losses and reduce consumption.
Six driving modes are available: Auto, Eco, Snow, Mud/Sand, Lock and Hill Descent Control, the latter regulating speed between 3 and 30 km/h on downhill sections.
The system preserves the off-road credentials long associated with the Duster nameplate while introducing electrified assistance at the rear axle.
Exterior Character and Extreme Positioning
Visually, the 2026 Dacia Duster III Hybrid G-150 4X4 Extreme retains the upright stance and squared proportions expected of the model. The high ground clearance and strong wheel-arch forms reinforce its utilitarian intent. Surfaces remain clean and functional.
