The 6.2 litre naturally aspirated LT2 V8 produces 482 hp and 613 Nm, driving the rear wheels through an eight speed DCT.
The retractable hardtop opens or closes in 17 seconds and can operate at speeds up to 50 km/h.
European technical data lists 0 to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds, a 296 km/h top speed and 356.8 litres of combined cargo capacity.
The 2026 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible European Version keeps the naturally aspirated side of the C8 Corvette range alive, combining its mid engine layout with an electrically retractable hardtop. It is less complicated mechanically than the E Ray, but the basic recipe remains serious: V8 power, rear wheel drive and a dual clutch transmission.
Chevrolet's European brochure lists both 2LT and 3LT specifications for the Convertible, with equipment and final specifications potentially varying between individual markets.
Mid Engine Shape Works Around a Folding Roof
The C8's proportions are dictated by placing the engine immediately behind the passenger compartment. It leaves the Stingray with a short, low nose, cabin pushed forward and substantial rear bodywork. The brochure images on pages 4 and 9 also show the deep side intake and sharply defined front openings that have become familiar C8 details.
The Convertible measures 4,634 mm long, 1,934 mm wide and 1,234 mm high, with a 2,722 mm wheelbase. Running order mass is quoted between 1,767 and 1,775 kg.
Hardtop Folds Away in 17 Seconds
The Convertible's defining practical feature is its retractable hardtop. Chevrolet says it folds automatically over the engine compartment in 17 seconds and can be operated at up to 50 km/h.
Importantly, the roof was shaped to retain the aerodynamic form of the Coupé, giving the Convertible a similar drag coefficient. Unlike the Coupé, however, the LT2 engine is not visible through a rear tailgate window.
Combined front and rear cargo capacity is listed at 356.8 litres.
Three Displays Fill the Driver Oriented Cabin
The 2LT specification brings Mulan leather seats, heating and ventilation, a heated steering wheel, head up display, Bose 14 speaker audio and the Z51 Performance Package. Moving to 3LT adds GT2 seats with nappa leather, extra interior finishes and additional parking technology.
The digital layout includes a 14 inch Driver Information Center, 12.7 inch centre display and 6.6 inch auxiliary touchscreen.
Naturally Aspirated V8 Sends 482 HP Rearward
Behind the cabin sits Chevrolet's 6.2 litre LT2 naturally aspirated V8. It produces 482 hp at 6,450 rpm and 613 Nm at 4,500 rpm, with an eight speed dual clutch transmission sending power to the rear wheels.
Chevrolet quotes 0 to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds when equipped with the required Z51 package and Magnetic Selective Ride Control, while top speed is 296 km/h. The technical sheet lists 19 inch front and 20 inch rear wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires.
For Europe, combined WLTP fuel consumption is 12.3 l/100 km, with CO2 emissions of 281 g/km.
