2026 Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray European Version

By Lorenzo Bianchi

  • The E Ray combines its rear driven 6.2 litre LT2 V8 with a front electric motor for 644 hp and electric all wheel drive.

  • Chevrolet quotes 0 to 100 km/h in 2.9 seconds and a 296 km/h top speed.

  • European specification includes carbon ceramic brakes, Magnetic Selective Ride Control and three digital displays.

The 2026 Chevrolet Corvette E Ray European Version takes the mid engined C8 formula in a different direction. The naturally aspirated V8 remains behind the cabin and drives the rear wheels, but a separate electric motor now powers the front axle.

That makes the E Ray an electrified all wheel drive Corvette, rather than a conventional plug in hybrid. Its 1.9 kWh lithium ion battery recharges while driving, including through regenerative braking. There is no external charging requirement described in the supplied European brochure.

Familiar C8 Shape Gets Functional Changes

The E Ray retains the eighth generation Corvette's low, mid engined proportions. Chevrolet has added cooling openings and air ducts around the body, with lightweight materials used where appropriate to support aerodynamics and weight management.

The brochure images show the familiar pointed nose, deeply sculpted side intakes and broad rear bodywork. At 4,731 to 4,734 mm long and 2,024 mm wide, the E Ray remains a substantial sports car. Wheelbase measures 2,722 mm.

Carbon Ceramic Brakes Sit Behind Staggered Wheels

The chassis specification is serious. Front wheels measure 20 by 10 inches, while the rear uses 21 by 13 inch rims. Tires are 275/30ZR20 front and 345/25ZR21 rear.

Carbon ceramic discs are standard, using six piston Brembo front and four piston rear calipers. Magnetic Selective Ride Control 4.0 works with double wishbone suspension at both ends. Optional carbon fibre wheels reduce vehicle weight by 18.5 kg while also cutting unsprung rotating mass.

Three Displays Fill the Driver Focused Cabin

European 3LZ specification includes GT2 seats trimmed in nappa leather with carbon fibre detailing, plus heated and ventilated functions. A Bose Performance Series system brings 14 speakers.

The cockpit uses a 14 inch Driver Information Center, 12.7 inch centre display and 6.6 inch auxiliary touchscreen. A head up display, Performance Data Recorder and inductive phone charging are also included. Coupé models have a removable roof panel, while the Convertible uses a fully retractable hardtop.

V8 and Electric Motor Produce 644 HP

The 6.2 litre naturally aspirated LT2 V8 develops 482 hp and 613 Nm according to the brochure's technical data. An electric motor at the front axle contributes 161 hp and 195 Nm, giving the E Ray a combined 644 hp. An eight speed dual clutch transmission handles the V8's output.

The result is 0 to 100 km/h in 2.9 seconds and a quoted top speed of 296 km/h. Stealth Mode can also move the Corvette using battery power alone at speeds up to 72 km/h.

For Europe, the brochure quotes WLTP combined consumption of 12.6 l/100 km and CO2 emissions of 289 g/km. Exact equipment may vary by country, something Chevrolet specifically notes for European vehicles.
