By Lorenzo Bianchi September 14, 2026
The seven seat Tiggo 8 Super Hybrid made its UK dynamic debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
Its 1.5 litre turbo hybrid system produces 204 PS and 365 Nm, with 56 miles of EV only driving.
Three row seating, dual digital displays and a 7 year or 100,000 mile warranty support its family SUV positioning.
The 2026 Chery Tiggo 8 Super Hybrid UK Version has made its first dynamic appearance in Britain, taking to the Goodwood Festival of Speed hill climb as Chery prepares to establish its own vehicle range in the country.
The seven seater appeared in Goodwood's First Glance category, just days after Chery confirmed the Tiggo 8 for the UK market. It also marks another step for Chery Holding Group in Britain, where its OMODA and JAECOO brands are already established.
Tiggo 8 Arrives as Chery's Seven Seat SUV
Chery describes the Tiggo 8 Super Hybrid as a spacious SUV combining three row practicality with an electrified drivetrain.
Its seven seat layout is more significant to the UK positioning. The cabin uses a 5+2 configuration across three rows, giving Chery a family oriented model as it begins building its local range.
Dual Screens Lead a Technology Heavy Cabin
Up front, the dashboard uses a full width dual screen arrangement supported by voice control. Wireless smartphone integration is included, along with ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof and a 12 speaker Sony audio system.
Ventilated front seats were highlighted during the car's 27 degree Goodwood appearance. Standard driver assistance equipment includes adaptive cruise control and lane centring, while the release also lists a cabin filtration system.
Cargo capacity and individual passenger dimensions have not been disclosed in the supplied material.
Super Hybrid Offers 745 Miles of Range
The main technical story sits underneath. Chery's latest Super Hybrid system combines a 1.5 litre turbocharged petrol engine with a dual motor full hybrid setup, producing 204 PS and 365 Nm.
Chery claims a total driving range of 745 miles, including 56 miles using electric power alone. The system supports electric only operation at urban speeds and is described as self charging, while fast charging capability is also confirmed. Battery capacity and charging speed are not specified in this release.
Chery Targets the UK Family SUV Market
The Tiggo 8 enters a busy part of the UK market where three row SUVs increasingly combine petrol engines with hybrid assistance. Chery's approach puts considerable emphasis on equipment, passenger flexibility and electrification rather than outright performance.
UK pricing and complete specifications were still awaiting announcement when Chery issued the release. First customer deliveries were expected at the end of summer, backed by a seven year or 100,000 mile warranty, whichever comes first.
