Compact B Segment SUV with Clear Tiggo Design Identity

The 2026 Chery Tiggo 4 CSH enters the compact SUV category as the smallest member of the Tiggo family to reach the UK market. It sits squarely in the B-segment, where size matters as much as practicality.

From the press images, the proportions are straightforward and deliberate. Short overhangs, a tall cabin, and a relatively upright stance give the Tiggo 4 the look of a vehicle built for dense urban environments rather than long motorway cruising.

The front fascia carries the now-familiar diamond-pattern grille, a recurring design theme across Chery’s SUV lineup. It is flanked by slim LED lighting that stretches toward the fenders, creating a slightly wider visual footprint than the car’s compact dimensions suggest.

Body surfaces are kept clean. There is little excess sculpting along the flanks, and the shoulder line runs in a simple, controlled sweep from front to rear. The effect is restrained rather than decorative. It is a shape meant to age well.

The lighting signatures, grille texture, and carefully balanced proportions place the Tiggo 4 firmly within Chery’s broader design language. The look is consistent with the rest of the Tiggo family while remaining scaled to the realities of a smaller SUV.

Fifth Generation Chery Super Hybrid Powertrain

At the heart of the 2026 Chery Tiggo 4 CSH sits the company’s fifth-generation Chery Super Hybrid system, marking the first time this technology appears in a Tiggo model.

The powertrain pairs a 1.5-litre petrol engine with a 1.83 kWh battery pack and an automatic Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT). Together, the system delivers 204PS and 310Nm of torque.

The numbers place the Tiggo 4 comfortably within the expectations of the compact hybrid class. Output is competitive, though the emphasis appears to be efficiency and everyday usability rather than outright performance.

Chery positions the system as an intelligent hybrid solution for regular driving conditions. In practice, that means smoother low-speed operation in city traffic and reduced fuel consumption compared with conventional petrol crossovers.

Detailed WLTP efficiency figures have not yet been released. Those will follow closer to the full specification announcement.

Interior Packaging Built Around Everyday Use

Despite its compact footprint, the Tiggo 4 CSH is configured as a five-seat SUV, with an interior layout designed for practical use rather than visual theatrics.

Chery notes that the cabin has been planned to maximise usable space. The vehicle’s upright proportions play a role here, allowing more headroom and interior volume than the exterior footprint might initially suggest.

Driver-assistance technologies and safety features are expected to be offered as standard, though the full equipment list will be detailed later. What has already been confirmed is a 7-year or 100,000-mile vehicle warranty, along with an 8-year battery warranty for the hybrid system.

For buyers entering the electrified SUV segment for the first time, that coverage will likely play a role in purchase decisions.

Pricing Signals Chery’s Strategy in the UK Market

Perhaps the most striking element of the 2026 Chery Tiggo 4 CSH is its price.

Chery UK has confirmed a starting price of £19,995, positioning the hybrid SUV at the lower end of the compact crossover market while still offering a full hybrid powertrain.

That price point could place it alongside entry-level petrol crossovers rather than established hybrid rivals.

The Tiggo 4 CSH also represents Chery’s fourth model introduced to the UK market since September 2025, reflecting a rapid expansion strategy as the brand builds its presence across Europe.

Full specifications and final trim details will be confirmed in the coming weeks as pre-orders begin through the brand’s growing retail network.
