A Localized First for V-Series
Cadillac picked China for the first localized build of a V-Series model, and the LYRIQ-V arrives with the badge's usual signals — a V-exclusive performance cluster and V-tuned sound — layered onto the brand's electric SUV. The exterior comes in a single grey finish with a nanoscale matte treatment, which is a fairly specific way of saying Cadillac wants this one to look deliberately restrained rather than shouty. That restraint continues with the aero package: a large front splitter, side air guides, a rear diffuser and a fixed rear spoiler, all functional rather than purely decorative, aimed at keeping the car stable at the speeds its dual motors can actually reach.
Proportions Built for a Wide Stance
At 5,013 mm long, 1,977 mm wide and 1,627 mm tall on a 3,094 mm wheelbase, the LYRIQ-V sits low and wide for something in the SUV category — Cadillac's own language calls out the "low, wide stance" directly, and the dimensions back that up. It's a big footprint, closer to a full-size luxury SUV than a compact crossover, which matters for anyone cross-shopping it against smaller electric performance SUVs.
Cabin Focused on the Front Seats
Interior details in the release lean heavily toward the front sport seats — Fine Nappa full-grain leather, adjustable side bolsters, memory settings, heating, ventilation and massage functions all get called out specifically. Sound comes from a 23-speaker AKG system with Dolby Atmos and four overhead speakers, arranged for 7.1.4 surround.
Power Numbers That Do the Talking
The dual-motor setup uses silicon carbide components, dual-sided water cooling and segmented magnets — engineering choices aimed at sustained output rather than a single big number. The result is 465 kW and 863 Nm, translating to 3.3 seconds to 100 km/h, which Cadillac says makes this the quickest car it currently sells in China. Chassis work included testing at Milford Proving Ground, with V-Series-specific reinforcement, five-link suspension front and rear, Brembo six-piston brakes and 21-inch flow-formed wheels rounding out a setup built to back up the acceleration figures with actual handling.
Everyday Access, Limited Numbers
Three driver-focused functions activate through a V-Mode button on the steering wheel, giving owners quick access to the car's sportier settings without digging through menus. Safety engineering includes a cage-style body with 17 horizontal and 10 vertical load paths, 74.8 percent high-strength steel content in the body structure, and a battery pack shell that's 99.9 percent high-strength steel. Orders go through Cadillac's dealer network in China, plus the brand's app and mini program.
Where It Fits
At RMB 399,900 and limited to 124 units, the LYRIQ-V positions itself as a halo model rather than a volume seller, competing for attention against performance EV SUVs from domestic and international brands active in China's luxury electric segment.
