2026 Brabus 1000 Based on Mercedes-AMG GT

By Lorenzo Bianchi

  • The Brabus 1000 produces 1,000 horsepower and 1,820 Nm of torque, making it one of the most powerful hybrid coupes available.

  • Built on the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E Performance platform, it features an enlarged 4.5L twin-turbo V8 and a rear-axle electric motor.

  • Carbon fiber aerodynamics, 22-inch forged wheels, and a handcrafted “Masterpiece” interior set it apart visually and technically.

A New Benchmark in High-Performance Hybrids

Brabus has introduced a new flagship in its high-performance portfolio with the 2026 Brabus 1000. The model is based on the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E Performance and has been extensively reengineered to deliver a total system output of 1,000 horsepower and 1,820 Nm of torque. While the platform remains recognizable, nearly every mechanical and visual aspect has been enhanced.

The Brabus 1000 is a 2+2 coupe that retains the four-door layout but channels it through a more aggressive design philosophy and specialized drivetrain tuning. With a 0–100 km/h sprint time of 2.6 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 320 km/h, it joins the upper echelon of hybrid performance vehicles.

Enlarged V8 and Dual-Source Powertrain

The combustion component of the hybrid system starts with the AMG-supplied 4.0-liter V8, but Brabus has increased the displacement to 4.5 liters. This is achieved by enlarging the cylinder bore to 84 mm and lengthening the stroke to 100 mm with a custom-forged crankshaft and high-performance connecting rods. The result is an internal combustion output of 796 horsepower and 1,250 Nm of torque (limited to 1,050 Nm in the vehicle).

Paired with the V8 is a 150 kW electric motor mounted on the rear axle. This motor, carried over from the AMG model, contributes to the final system output of 735 kW (1,000 hp). Power delivery is handled via the 4MATIC+ all-wheel-drive system, a nine-speed SPEEDSHIFT MCT transmission, and a separate two-speed gearbox for the electric motor.

Acceleration and Speed Figures

According to Brabus, the 1000 model accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.6 seconds, reaches 200 km/h in 9.5 seconds, and passes 300 km/h in just over 23 seconds. Despite this performance, the vehicle remains compliant with Euro 6D ISC-FCM emissions standards thanks to extensive drivetrain calibration and the integration of particulate filters in the exhaust system.

Carbon Fiber Aerodynamics and Exterior Enhancements

Every aerodynamic component of the Brabus 1000 has been developed in the wind tunnel. The result is a full suite of exposed carbon fiber elements, including a front splitter with raised side flaps, grille inserts, canards, mirror caps, and a large rear diffuser. The “Silken Spirit” rear wing contributes to rear downforce and complements the diffuser design.

Brabus offers both matte and gloss carbon finishes, along with optional color-matched or contrasting paint options. Underbody lighting with a projected Brabus logo has also been integrated into the side skirts for additional visual impact.

Forged Wheels and Suspension Tuning

The Brabus 1000 rides on Monoblock Z “Platinum Edition” forged wheels, sized 21 inches in front and 22 inches at the rear. These wheels are paired with 305/30 ZR 21 and 335/25 ZR 22 tires from Continental or Hankook.

Suspension tuning was developed in collaboration with KW, using height-adjustable sports springs. The setup allows for a ride height reduction of up to 20 mm, lowering the center of gravity and enhancing stability without sacrificing ride comfort.

Brabus Masterpiece Interior

Inside, the Brabus 1000 receives a custom interior trimmed in black leather and Dinamica microfiber. The seats, door panels, and floor mats feature a Shell-design quilting pattern, with perforations and stitching done to exacting standards. Heritage design cues—such as “77” embossing in reference to Brabus’s founding year—appear throughout the cabin.

Ambient lighting is synchronized with illuminated Brabus logos on the carbon-fiber scuff plates. Glossy carbon accents extend to the dash, center console, and door inserts, while “Rocket Red” glazing highlights key controls. Pedal covers are also finished in carbon.

Digital Identity via Blockchain

As part of the Aura Blockchain Consortium, the Brabus 1000 is delivered with a Digital Product Passport. This document authenticates the car’s provenance and ensures traceability for its future ownership. It also protects against counterfeit builds, adding a layer of security to the limited-production vehicle.

Positioning in the Performance Market

With a starting price of €445,900 (excluding VAT), the Brabus 1000 targets an audience seeking not just performance, but customization and exclusivity. Its hybrid layout and massive torque output position it alongside limited-run electrified exotics, while its handcrafted interior and blockchain-registered provenance offer appeal in the luxury collector segment.

Brabus has spent over 40 years refining its model of increased-displacement performance combined with bespoke execution. The Brabus 1000 serves as a synthesis of that experience, combining raw capability with visual precision and technical complexity.
