A collaboration built around BMW M heritage
The 2026 BMW XM Label KITH Edition is one of those vehicles that exists as much for storytelling as it does for performance.
Created through the third collaboration between BMW and New York lifestyle brand KITH, the special edition celebrates the 47th anniversary of the BMW M1, the first standalone BMW M model. It also creates an interesting connection between past and present, because the XM itself is the first dedicated BMW M vehicle developed since the M1.
Production is limited to just 47 units worldwide, making it one of the rarer XM variants to leave BMW’s factories. Only four examples have been allocated to the South Korean market.
Frozen violet paint steals the show
The visual centerpiece is impossible to miss.
BMW developed an exclusive shade called BMW Individual Frozen Techno Violet specifically for the XM Label KITH Edition. The matte finish draws inspiration from colors used on historic BMW models and immediately separates the vehicle from the standard XM range.
Matching violet accents appear around the kidney grille, rear XM badging, and KITH logos, creating a consistent theme throughout the exterior. The details are subtle from a distance but become more noticeable when viewed up close.
Large 23-inch Star Spoke Jet Black wheels fill the arches, while black M Sport brake calipers and high-gloss Shadowline trim contribute to the SUV’s darker appearance.
Despite its considerable size, the XM still carries an athletic stance. The combination of the deep violet finish and black detailing gives it a more purposeful look than many luxury-focused SUVs.
Interior details focus on exclusivity
Inside, the collaboration becomes much more apparent.
BMW has fitted the cabin with black BMW Individual Merino leather and M Carbon Fiber trim. KITH branding appears throughout the interior, though it has been integrated carefully rather than aggressively. Logos are embossed into the seatbacks, illuminated within the front headrests, and incorporated into the door sills alongside the vehicle’s individual production number.
The rear seating area receives similar treatment. BMW’s lounge-style rear compartment features additional KITH branding and two embroidered comfort cushions created exclusively for the edition. A bespoke duffel bag for storing charging cables is also included.
These touches might sound minor on paper, but they reinforce the limited-production character buyers tend to expect from vehicles in this category.
BMW M’s most powerful production powertrain
Underneath the exclusive paint and branding sits the strongest production powertrain BMW M has ever offered.
The XM Label KITH Edition combines a 585-horsepower twin-turbocharged V8 engine with a 197-horsepower electric motor. Together, the plug-in hybrid system produces a combined 748 horsepower and 101.9 kg·m of torque.
Performance figures remain impressive for a vehicle of this size. BMW quotes a 0–100 km/h time of just 3.8 seconds.
While rivals such as high-performance versions of the Lamborghini Urus, Porsche Cayenne, and Range Rover Sport continue to chase outright speed, the XM Label KITH Edition takes a slightly different route. Its appeal lies in rarity, design, and the unusual connection it creates between BMW’s iconic M1 and its modern flagship performance SUV.
