2026 Bentley Bentayga Something Blue Collection

By Lorenzo Bianchi

  • Limited to 10 examples for the Japanese market.

  • Ice metallic paint with subtle blue undertones and bespoke blue interior detailing.

  • 4.0L twin-turbo V8 producing 542 hp and 770 Nm.

A Japan Exclusive Mulliner Commission

The 2026 Bentley Bentayga Something Blue Collection arrives as a Japan-exclusive special edition, limited to just ten units. Commissioned through Mulliner, Bentley’s bespoke division, the collection has been tailored specifically for female buyers in Japan, though its execution remains characteristically restrained rather than overtly themed.

The name draws inspiration from the Victorian-era wedding rhyme “something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue,” a tradition that has found renewed popularity in Japan. The concept informs the colour and detailing strategy without dictating it.

Bentley unveiled the vehicle at Ooyane Plaza in Tokyo, an appropriately curated setting for a limited-run Mulliner SUV.

Ice Metallic with Hints of Blue

The 2026 Bentley Bentayga Something Blue Collection's exterior is completed with Ice, a metallic white paint. The surface exhibits faint blue undertones under specific lighting conditions, a detail that complements the edition's theme while maintaining the Bentayga's imposing presence.

The SUV's brake calipers are painted to match the exterior, and it is mounted on 22-inch silver alloy wheels. The effect is cohesive rather than contrast-heavy. The Bentayga’s broad grille, muscular rear haunches and upright stance remain unchanged. This is a study in nuance rather than reinvention.

From a design perspective, the Ice finish works particularly well with the Bentayga’s sculpted shoulder line and large, flat surfacing. Light plays across the bodywork in a way that emphasises proportion over ornament.

Interior Design: Graphite Grey and Linen with Blue Accents

Inside, Mulliner has subtly extended the blue motif. Delicate blue floral motifs adorn the dashboard, while blue Bentley winged emblems are embroidered on the seat backrests.

In the larger cabin setting, graphite grey leather is paired with linen. The dashboard, upper door panels, steering wheel, central control unit, and infotainment screen are all covered in graphite grey. Without overpowering the eye, the contrast between light and dark surfaces creates depth.

Bespoke scuff plates bearing “Something Blue Collection” plaques remind occupants of the SUV’s limited-run status. Only ten examples will be produced, and several have already been allocated.

Twin Turbo V8 Performance

Under the bonnet, the 2026 Bentley Bentayga Something Blue Collection retains Bentley’s 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8. Output stands at 542 horsepower and 770 Nm of torque, delivered between 2,000 rpm and 4,500 rpm.

Despite the Bentayga’s substantial mass, the V8 propels the SUV from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds. Top speed is listed at 290 km/h (180 mph). No mechanical revisions specific to the Something Blue Collection are indicated.

Cost and Place in the Market

At 34 million yen, or about $219,400, the 2026 Bentley Bentayga Something Blue Collection is the most expensive luxury SUV in Japan.

This edition relies more on exclusivity and carefully chosen detailing than on performance escalation in a market dominated by vehicles like the Rolls-Royce Cullinan and high-spec Range Rover variants [Inference].

The Bentayga Something Blue Collection does not attempt to redefine the SUV. It refines its aesthetic narrative. Ten units. A single market. A restrained interpretation of tradition translated into contemporary luxury.
