A familiar shape with a quieter kind of change
The 2026 Audi S5 Sedan B10 does not announce itself through radical styling or powertrain headlines. Instead, Audi has focused on how the car is experienced from behind the wheel. The S5 sits within the wider 2026 A5 model-year update, sharing a suite of digital, ergonomic, and software-driven enhancements aimed at making the car feel more intuitive and more emotionally engaging in daily use.
It is an approach that feels consistent with Audi’s recent direction. The hardware is already strong. The emphasis now is on clarity, responsiveness, and the way systems work together.
Digital design takes centre stage
The most visible changes appear inside. Audi introduces an all-new MMI design language across the digital instrument cluster, centre touchscreen, and available passenger display. The layout is cleaner, with fewer lists and more graphical elements intended to reduce distraction. Bright, high-contrast backgrounds distinguish Audi-native functions from third-party apps such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, which are now more deeply integrated across screens.
In the driver’s display, the virtual cockpit adopts a clearer structure with reduced icon clutter. Three selectable views are available, including a classic instrument layout, a navigation-focused view, and a driver-assistance-centric display. The idea that the vehicle is reacting to the driver's intent rather than just providing information is reinforced by the graphics' subtle adaptation to the selected drive mode.
The dynamic plus mode sharpens the edge
Audi has added a new drive selection option called dynamic plus specifically for the S5. This mode is designed to heighten driver involvement by recalibrating throttle response, drivetrain behaviour, and stability systems. It allows controlled oversteer through coordinated use of the standard quattro sport differential, brake torque vectoring, and revised ESC logic.
The intention is not to turn the S5 into a track car, but to give experienced drivers a more direct connection on demanding roads. A dedicated dynamic plus screen reinforces this focus, adding shift lights, a round tachometer, and sport-oriented displays that echo Audi’s motorsport heritage without overwhelming the cabin.
Ergonomics and assistance refined
Audi also revisits physical touchpoints. A redesigned multifunction steering wheel brings back a traditional scroll wheel, replacing the previous touch-sensitive interface. Although it is a minor adjustment, it recognizes practicality. The update makes changing settings more intuitive, especially when operating a vehicle.
Parking and driver assistance technologies are also growing. While trained parking enables the system to learn and repeat intricate parking maneuvers on private property, park assist pro provides reverse assistance for the final 50 meters when backing into a space. Convenience, not spectacle, is the goal of these features, which lessen stress in confined urban spaces.
The list of options now includes an integrated high-resolution dashcam that can record 4K video straight from a factory-installed device. The fact that recordings are kept locally highlights Audi's preference for system integration and privacy over aftermarket accessories.
Positioning and ownership
In addition to the technological advancements, all 2026 Audi A5 and S5 models come with Audi Signature Care scheduled maintenance for three years or 30,000 miles.. Availability is scheduled for the first quarter of 2026 in the US market, with pricing announced separately for individual variants.
