ArcFox Expands Its EV Sedan Lineup
The 2026 ArcFox S3 enters an increasingly crowded electric sedan market, though the new model appears to be targeting practicality and everyday comfort just as much as outright technology headlines.
Official images released ahead of the car’s public debut show a sleek mid-size sedan with a fairly restrained design compared with some of the more aggressive EVs currently coming out of China. The S3 will make its first appearance at the 2026 Beijing Auto Show on April 24, where pre-sales are also scheduled to begin.
Visually, the front end follows ArcFox’s current family styling direction. A full-width star-ring lighting signature stretches across the nose, while split headlamp units sit lower within the bumper structure. The closed-off grille area is paired with a trapezoidal lower intake finished with gloss-black trim, giving the sedan a slightly sportier appearance without overcomplicating the surfaces.
From the side, the proportions look clean and relatively balanced. Semi-concealed door handles, black window trim, and five-spoke wheels help modernize the profile, though the overall silhouette stays conservative compared with some fastback-style rivals.
Rear Design Adds More Personality
The rear section introduces a little more visual drama.
ArcFox fits a full-width taillight bar that mirrors the front lighting layout, while the lower bumper gains a uniquely shaped diffuser treatment. The car also features a speed-sensitive electric rear spoiler, which is still relatively unusual in this segment and adds a slightly more premium feel to the overall package.
Dimensionally, the S3 measures 4,916 mm long, 1,900 mm wide, and 1,480 mm tall, riding on a 2,876 mm wheelbase. Those numbers place it firmly within the mid-size category alongside several established EV sedans already competing in the Chinese market.
Cabin Focuses on Passenger Comfort
ArcFox has not fully revealed the interior yet, though several details have already emerged.
According to the official information, the front seats can connect with the rear seats after removing the headrests, creating a double-bed-style layout inside the cabin. The rear seats also recline up to 118 degrees, suggesting the S3 is being positioned partly around passenger comfort rather than purely driving dynamics.
The vehicle also receives a split sunroof together with physical sunshades, which may appeal to buyers in hotter climates where glass-heavy cabins can become difficult to manage during summer months.
ArcFox says the dashboard design is expected to resemble the Geely S5, though the final production layout has not yet been fully shown. [Unverified]
Multiple Battery Configurations and Swapping Capability
The powertrain strategy is where the S3 becomes more interesting.
The battery-swapping version uses a 159 kW electric motor, while the standard pure-electric model receives a 150 kW motor. Depending on configuration, battery capacities range from 44.1 kWh to 65.8 kWh.
Claimed driving range figures vary between 460 km and 660 km for the standard EV versions, while the battery-swapping model is rated for up to 535 km using a 54 kWh battery pack.
ArcFox has also confirmed a range-extended version, though technical details remain limited for now.
