By Lorenzo Bianchi October 12, 2026
The 2026 Alfa Romeo Cuorerosso Concept debuts at the Paris Motor Show as a 2+2 coupe measuring 4,700 mm long, with a 2,930 mm wheelbase.
Exterior highlights include Liquid Ink Red paint, a redesigned Scudetto grille, Coda Tronca rear styling and a 0.28 drag coefficient.
Alfa Romeo explores a 2.9 liter V6 full hybrid with Q4 all wheel drive, alongside a driver focused interior featuring steer by wire technology.
Alfa Romeo Cuorerosso Introduces a New Design Direction
The 2026 Alfa Romeo Cuorerosso Concept has made its world premiere at the Paris Motor Show, introducing a fresh interpretation of the Italian manufacturer's sports car identity. Developed by Alfa Romeo Centro Stile, the 2+2 coupe previews a design philosophy intended to influence future vehicles rather than a specific production model.
Its development follows the principle of Bellezza Necessaria, or Necessary Beauty, where unnecessary design elements are removed in favor of functional surfaces and carefully considered proportions.
The design team reportedly spent just one or two weeks developing initial sketches before moving into three dimensional modeling, treating the body as a single sculptural volume.
Sculpted Coupe Proportions and Coda Tronca Rear Design
Measuring 4,700 mm long, 1,980 mm wide and 1,331 mm high, the Cuorerosso combines a low roofline with a substantial 2,930 mm wheelbase. Alfa Romeo quotes a weight of 1,750 kg.
A pronounced wedge line extends along the bodywork toward the truncated Coda Tronca tail. The rear incorporates circular taillights and a Scudetto shaped window, while an integrated lower diffuser contributes to the claimed 0.28 drag coefficient.
At the front, slim headlights flank a reinterpretation of Alfa Romeo's traditional Trilobo arrangement. The central Scudetto is made up of illuminated triangular elements, and the Liquid Ink Red finish changes to darker tones depending on the angle of view.
Forged wheels reinterpret the traditional telephone dial design of Alfa Romeo with six circular openings on three spokes.
Custom Driver Shows Off Four Seat Interior
The Cuorerosso will seat four in individual seats with access to the cabin through the rear hinged doors.
The dashboard references the 1967 Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale, adopting a narrow horizontal layout and the distinctive Cannocchiale instrumentation.
Its new Cannocchiale Vivente interface offers two configurations. Immersivo retains twin instrument elements, while Concentrato physically combines them into a single display intended to reduce distractions.
A steer by wire system works alongside a redesigned three spoke steering wheel. The central Magma Display combines touch controls with physical rotary and toggle switches.
Interior materials include Poltrona Frau nubuck, regenerated leather containing 60 percent post industrial waste and a lightweight technical fabric developed through research with Luna Rossa.
V6 Hybrid Vision and Quadrifoglio Driving Character
Alfa Romeo describes a potential 2.9 liter V6 full hybrid configuration with Q4 all wheel drive, a torque converter and a carbon fiber driveshaft. This remains a proposed technical direction rather than a confirmed production powertrain.
The concept also features air suspension, Brembo carbon ceramic brakes and three driving modes: Cruise, Sport and Quadrifoglio.
Future Alfa Romeo Models and Multi Energy Strategy
Cuorerosso is not scheduled as a production vehicle. Instead, it outlines a design and technology direction for Alfa Romeo's future multi energy range.
The strategy includes fully electric, plug in hybrid, mild hybrid and full hybrid powertrains, with future models extending into segments accommodating vehicles up to 4.7 meters long. Quadrifoglio variants remain part of that broader vision.
