2026 AITO M7
By Lorenzo Bianchi March 19, 2026
The 2026 AITO M7 has a new exterior color called Night Purple.
Other than a color update, no hardware or design changes have been confirmed.
Prior to launch, a potential LiDAR upgrade is still pending confirmation.
With minor changes, the 2026 AITO M7 is back
There isn't a complete redesign for the 2026 AITO M7. Instead, it shows up with a quieter update. A new paint finish, a few questions around tech, and not much else confirmed for now.
Ahead of its expected launch, the focus seems to be on keeping the existing formula intact while adding small changes rather than reworking the whole car.
Exterior stays familiar, with one clear change
From the images released, the most noticeable difference is the new “Night Purple” color. It gives the M7 a slightly more distinctive look compared to the usual neutral shades.
Beyond that, the body shape appears unchanged. The same proportions carry over, with a fairly clean SUV profile and a balanced stance that leans more toward comfort than aggression.
It’s the kind of update that doesn’t try to draw too much attention. If anything, the new color does most of the work here.
Proportions remain focused on space and presence
The M7 continues to sit as a mid-to-large SUV, with a layout that prioritizes interior room and everyday usability.
There’s no indication of dimensional changes in the current information. The stance still looks upright, with a shape that favors practicality over dramatic styling.
It fits into that familiar space where family SUVs tend to land. Straightforward, usable, and easy to live with.
Interior and tech largely unchanged for now
There’s limited detail around interior updates. Based on what’s available, the cabin is expected to carry over from the current model.
That likely means the same digital interface and layout already seen in the M7 lineup. No confirmed changes to screens, materials, or features at this stage.
It’s possible there could be updates closer to launch, but nothing has been officially outlined yet.
Powertrain details remain under wraps
There are no confirmed changes to the powertrain either. The expectation is that the M7 will continue with its existing setup. [Inference]
What’s less certain is whether the model will receive an updated driver assistance system. There’s mention of a potential 896-line LiDAR system, though this hasn’t been confirmed. [Unverified]
If that upgrade happens, it would likely bring improvements to autonomous driving capability. For now, it remains something to watch.
A cautious update in a market that is competitive
The 2026 AITO M7 joins a market where, particularly in the electronics sector, updates are frequently released.
In this case, the approach feels more restrained. Keep the product as it is, introduce a new visual option, and possibly refine the technology in the background.
With its official debut expected soon, the full picture should become clearer. For now, the update is defined more by what it doesn’t change than what it does.
