2026 ABT SQ5 Sportback

By Lorenzo Bianchi

  • ABT offers two performance upgrades with outputs rising to 440 hp or 470 hp.

  • Revised suspension lowers the SQ5 Sportback by up to 45 mm.

  • Exterior package includes new aero parts, matte-black exhaust tips, and 22-inch wheels.

ABT Sharpens the New SQ5 Sportback

The Audi SQ5 Sportback already leans heavily into style compared with the standard Q5. The sloping roofline, tighter rear proportions, and more aggressive surfacing give it a noticeably sportier character before any tuner gets involved.

ABT Sportsline looked at that foundation and decided it needed more attitude.

The new 2026 ABT SQ5 Sportback package focuses on small but noticeable revisions rather than a dramatic redesign. Visually, the SUV remains clean and relatively restrained by ABT standards, though the details noticeably alter its stance and presence once you look closer.

The front spoiler gives the nose a lower appearance, especially when paired with the revised suspension setup. Around the rear, a new skirt insert and larger matte-black exhaust outlets add extra visual width to the lower bumper section.

From some angles, the SQ5 Sportback almost starts resembling a scaled-down RS Q8. The dark finishes, wide track, and coupe-style roofline help the proportions considerably.

Lower Ride Height Changes the Entire Profile

The suspension changes probably make the biggest difference visually.

ABT fits revised suspension springs that lower the vehicle by approximately 40 to 45 mm. That drop noticeably reduces the empty space around the wheel arches and gives the Sportback a much more planted appearance compared with the standard car.

The package also includes ABT SPORT EVO 22-inch wheels finished in gloss black with 255/35 ZR22 tires. Combined with the lower stance, the larger wheels help stretch the SUV visually and make the proportions appear longer and flatter than before.

There is also an alternative package configuration available for models equipped with factory air suspension.

Power Climbs to as Much as 470 HP

ABT offers two separate performance packages for the SQ5 Sportback.

The first, called ABT Power S, raises output from the factory 367 horsepower and 550 Nm to approximately 440 hp and 600 Nm. Buyers wanting something more aggressive can step up to the ABT Power R package, which increases output further to around 470 horsepower and 650 Nm.

ABT notes that the higher-output Power R figures require 100-octane fuel.

Interestingly, top speed remains unchanged regardless of which package is selected.

Interior Changes Stay Relatively Simple

Inside, the modifications remain intentionally restrained.

ABT adds illuminated entrance lights and revised floor mats, but the company avoids turning the cabin into a completely different environment. That lighter touch actually suits the SQ5 Sportback well because the factory Audi interior already carries a fairly clean design language.

Pricing starts at €19,500 for the Power S package and rises to €21,000 for the more powerful Power R setup before installation, paint work, and TÜV approval costs.

For buyers wanting an SQ5 with more visual tension and noticeably stronger performance, the ABT conversion lands in a fairly convincing middle ground between factory refinement and full tuner excess.
