2025 Zhiji LS9
By Lorenzo Bianchi October 16, 2025
Zhiji LS9 launches as a tech-luxury electric fastback with 800 km range (CLTC).
Dual 2K OLED screens and Coffee OS 3.0 create a calm, digital cockpit.
900V architecture and IM AD Max driving system put it against Nio and Zeekr rivals.
The 2025 Zhiji LS9 isn’t the kind of car that shouts about what it can do. It just sits there — wide, clean, and composed — looking like it knows. Zhiji, the electric luxury arm under SAIC’s innovation umbrella, has carved out a niche for designing cars that feel more architectural than automotive. The LS9 might be its most complete expression of that idea yet.
In photos, it reads more like a sculpted piece of modern design than a machine chasing performance numbers. There’s no clutter, no aggressive air intakes, no unnecessary chrome. Just long, fluid lines and a stance that feels grounded, as if the car’s weight sits perfectly balanced over its center. The headlights are slim, almost severe, giving the front end a quiet confidence. It’s a fastback, technically, but the roofline has a grand-tourer grace — tapering elegantly rather than collapsing sharply.
Interior: Digital Stillness
Open the door, and the LS9’s interior feels like walking into a soundproof studio. The design team seems to have borrowed from contemporary architecture — open spaces, minimal color contrasts, and surfaces that flow into one another. The twin 2K OLED screens stretch across the dashboard, cleanly integrated rather than floating like so many others. Below, a subtle central touchscreen handles climate and core functions, while Zhiji’s in-house IM OS 3.0 software brings voice control, gesture recognition, and a conversational AI assistant.
It’s not the flashiest interior in the segment — and that’s the point. There’s a softness to it. The use of light, the texture of materials, and the restrained palette make it feel more like a private lounge than a digital showcase. And yet, tech runs deep: the system is powered by a Qualcomm 8295 chip, and the AI — nicknamed IM GPT — continuously learns from driver behavior to personalize responses.
Under the Skin: Subtle Power
The LS9 sits on a 900V silicon carbide platform, allowing ultra-fast charging — 10% to 80% in around 20 minutes — and delivering up to 337 kW (450+ hp) in its dual-motor configuration. Claimed range exceeds 800 km (CLTC), placing it alongside the Zeekr 001 FR and Nio ET7 in terms of endurance. The chassis has been tuned more for fluidity than sharpness — think continental comfort with composure in reserve.
Zhiji’s IM AD Max system brings lidar-based driver assistance, featuring Nvidia’s Drive Orin processor and a full sensor suite for urban and highway navigation. In testing, it’s shown to manage lane changes and traffic flow with quiet precision, another sign that the brand’s idea of “luxury” is rooted more in relief than rush.
The Luxury of Restraint
Among China’s growing crowd of premium EVs, the 2025 Zhiji LS9 stands out by not trying to outdo them all. It’s the sort of car that values calm over chaos — where technology exists to disappear, not to dominate. In a market obsessed with numbers, Zhiji seems more interested in how a car makes you feel when everything else falls silent.
And that, perhaps, is the new definition of luxury in the electric age — confidence that doesn’t need to raise its voice.
