Black Package Adds Bold Touches to a Refined EV

Volkswagen has introduced a new Black Package for the 2025 ID.4, available on the S and S Plus trims. Designed to give the electric SUV a more distinctive appearance, the package applies a suite of darkened exterior elements—mirror caps, door handles, badging—set off by 20-inch black-painted aluminum wheels. It’s a styling upgrade that adds visual weight without modifying the vehicle’s mechanics.

Trim-Specific Features Enhance Usability

On the S Plus, the Black Package includes a functional enhancement: an auto-dimming driver’s side mirror, which helps reduce glare from trailing headlights. All Black Package elements are cohesive, understated, and stay true to the ID.4’s clean, modern design.

Core Performance Remains Unchanged

The Black Package does not affect the ID.4’s underlying EV hardware. All 2025 ID.4 models come equipped with an 82 kWh battery pack, produced at Volkswagen’s Chattanooga, Tennessee plant—a facility that also assembles the Atlas SUV lineup.

Range remains strong, with the ID.4 Pro delivering up to 291 miles (≈468 km) on a full charge (EPA estimate), depending on configuration and driving conditions.

Tech Updates and Pricing Clarity

For 2025, Volkswagen rolled out enhanced software and interior upgrades across the ID.4 range. Included are door-opening warning, improved seatbelt reminders, and an optional Premium Speech AI-driven voice assistant. A new exterior color, Mountain Lake, also joins the palette.

Pricing for the ID.4 ranges from $45,095 for the base 82 kWh Pro RWD, with S and S Plus trims higher. Adding the Black Package is an option priced at $695. Destination charges apply on all trim.
