2025 Seat Cupra Leon Sportstourer UK Version
By Lorenzo Bianchi January 5, 2026
The Sportstourer becomes the most powerful Leon yet with a 333 PS petrol option.
New design language sharpens stance while retaining estate proportions.
Plug-in hybrid range expands with over 62 miles of electric driving.
Sharpened exterior with estate balance
The 2025 Seat Cupra Leon Sportstourer adopts the brand’s latest design language without compromising its long-roof silhouette. The revised shark-nose front end pulls the visual mass forward, lowering the nose and giving the car a more planted expression in profile. Triangular matrix LED headlamps frame the face cleanly, while the CUPRA badge now sits directly on the bonnet, an assertive move that tightens brand identity.
From the side, the Sportstourer’s proportions remain disciplined. Its dual role as a performance car and a practical estate is reinforced by the extended roofline, which flows smoothly into the back without being overly ornamented. An illuminated CUPRA logo is integrated into the full-width rear light at the back, expanding the car's visual stance and stabilizing it on the road. New wheel designs, up to 19 inches, fill the arches without overwhelming the body surfaces.
Cabin revisions and digital focus
Inside, the changes are more tactile than theatrical. The dashboard and centre console have been redesigned with improved materials and a more architectural feel, highlighted by copper accents and textured surfaces. Sustainability plays a visible role, with bucket seats available in recycled microfibre or environmentally conscious leather, depending on specification.
Digitalisation is now central to the driving environment. A larger 12.9-inch infotainment screen runs an updated HMI with clearer graphics and simplified access to climate and vehicle functions. The layout feels less layered than before, with fewer distractions between driver and controls. Optional high-fidelity audio developed with Sennheiser reinforces the car’s positioning as both a long-distance and performance-oriented machine.
Performance range led by a 333 PS estate
The Leon Sportstourer’s most notable update sits under the skin. For 2025, it becomes the most powerful Leon produced, thanks to a new 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine delivering 333 PS in VZ3 form. Power is managed through a torque splitter system and all-wheel drive, with optional Akebono brakes underscoring its intent. This places the Sportstourer squarely among the most potent compact performance estates on sale
Alongside combustion options, the powertrain lineup expands with a new generation of plug-in hybrids. The eHybrid system now offers up to 272 PS and more than 62 miles of electric-only range, supported by faster DC charging capability.
Positioning in a shrinking segment
Performance estates remain a niche, and the Leon Sportstourer occupies it with clear intent. Designed and constructed in Barcelona, it supports CUPRA's approach of providing emotionally charged vehicles with useful applications at a time when electrification is changing expectations.
