2025 Porsche Macan 4 Oak Green
By Lorenzo Bianchi October 4, 2025
Dual-motor setup with 402 hp and 650 Nm of torque.
WLTP range of up to 613 km from a 100 kWh battery.
800-volt architecture enables 270 kW fast charging in ~21 minutes.
For Porsche, the Macan has been more than just another SUV. Since its debut in 2014, it has been the brand’s global volume leader, outselling even the Cayenne and 911. Now, with the 2025 Porsche Macan 4, the model steps into a new role: Porsche’s first mainstream all-electric SUV.
This isn’t simply an EV conversion. The new Macan rides on Porsche’s Premium Platform Electric (PPE) architecture, shared with Audi’s Q6 e-tron, and serves as the blueprint for future models. The shift signals Porsche’s long-term commitment to electrification while preserving the sharp dynamics that made the Macan popular in the first place.
Exterior design: familiar yet progressive
The Macan 4 carries a recognizably Porsche profile, though every line has been reworked to optimize aerodynamics. The front end adopts slim split-level LED headlights, with the upper DRLs positioned on the fenders and the main light modules embedded lower in the bumper.
Its clamshell bonnet and muscular shoulders remain hallmarks, while the roofline flows into a slightly more coupe-like rear. A full-width LED light strip emphasizes stance and width at the back. Wheel options range from 19 to 22 inches, all designed with aero efficiency in mind.
Performance and drivetrain
Underneath, the Macan 4 runs a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system producing 402 hp (300 kW) and 650 Nm of torque on overboost. Porsche claims a 0–100 km/h sprint in 5.2 seconds with launch control engaged, making it competitive within its class.
Top speed is electronically limited to 220 km/h.
The 100 kWh lithium-ion battery (95 kWh usable) feeds the system. In WLTP testing, the Macan 4 returns up to 613 km of range, depending on wheel and tire specification.
Suspension is by double wishbones at the front and multi-link at the rear, with Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) included as standard. Adaptive air suspension is available, lowering the ride height at higher speeds for stability.
Charging and efficiency
One of the Macan 4’s standout technical highlights is its 800-volt electrical system. It enables DC fast charging at up to 270 kW, which can replenish the battery from 10 to 80 percent in just over 21 minutes under ideal conditions.
For AC charging, the SUV supports 11 kW as standard, with a 22 kW onboard charger offered in some markets.
To improve compatibility with existing infrastructure, Porsche has equipped the battery with a bank charging function: on 400-volt stations, the pack effectively splits into two 400-volt halves, each charging in parallel at up to 135 kW.
Efficiency is further optimized with sophisticated regenerative braking, allowing recovery of up to 240 kW under deceleration.
Interior and technology
Inside, the Macan 4 introduces Porsche’s latest digital architecture while keeping a driver-focused layout.
- A 12.6-inch curved digital instrument cluster sits directly behind the wheel.
- A 10.9-inch infotainment screen anchors the center console, running Porsche’s new infotainment system built on Android Automotive OS.
- An optional 10.9-inch passenger display offers streaming, navigation input, and entertainment.
The cabin uses higher-grade materials across the trims, with Race-Tex upholstery and sustainable alternatives offered alongside traditional leather.
Practicality has also improved. The Macan 4 rides on a longer wheelbase than its predecessor, freeing up more rear legroom. Cargo space totals 540 liters, plus an extra 84 liters in the front trunk (“frunk”)—ideal for storing charging cables.
Safety and driver assistance
The 2025 Macan 4 is fitted with the latest in Porsche’s assistance tech. Standard features include:
- Adaptive cruise control
- Lane-keeping assist
- Traffic jam assist
- Park Assist with surround-view cameras
Optional systems extend to Porsche InnoDrive, which integrates predictive navigation data into adaptive cruise, and a head-up display with augmented-reality overlays.
