2025 Porsche 911 Carrera T Formosa 992 ll

By Lorenzo Bianchi

  • A one-off 911 Carrera T inspired by Taiwan’s landscapes.

  • Paint, trim and materials developed exclusively for the Formosa project.

  • Sonderwunsch craftsmanship integrated without altering Carrera T performance.

Design Rooted in Taiwan’s Landscape

The 2025 Porsche 911 Carrera T Formosa 992 II arrives as a carefully authored one-off, created through Porsche’s Sonderwunsch programme and shaped around Taiwan’s contrasting geography. The car’s visual story leans heavily on the island’s mountains, coastline and Pacific horizon, a theme that becomes clear even in static press images. According to the release, Porsche Taiwan commissioned the project to express the island’s identity through colour and material choices, and the result feels deliberate rather than decorative.

The exterior centres on Ipanema Blue Metallic, chosen to reference the surrounding ocean. The shade reads clean and almost pastel under soft light, a calm backdrop for several contrasting elements in Suzuka Grey Metallic—used on the Porsche script, window trim and engine-lid slats. The wheels, 20/21-inch RS Spyder alloys, follow the same palette, with Vanadium Grey inner beds providing an additional layer of tonal depth. Exclusive Manufaktur HD-Matrix LED headlights in black and Exclusive Design taillights round out the visual package.

An Interior Built Around Craft and Symbolism

Inside, the Formosa theme shifts from seascape tones to mountain greens. Paldao wood trim introduces an organic texture, while the full bucket seats are upholstered in Truffle Brown and Black leather accented by Night Green stitching. A new chequered “Formosa” pattern—created specifically for this project—appears on seat inserts and in the fully leather-lined front boot.

Sonderwunsch detailing is carried through the illuminated door sills and embossed headrest logos, each integrating a 911 silhouette with stylised mountain peaks and ocean motifs. The craftsmanship reads intentional, not ornamental, and each element ties back to the island narrative the car aims to express.

Performance Remains Pure Carrera T

Mechanically, the model stays aligned with the standard 911 Carrera T. Lightweight construction, a manual transmission and sport-tuned suspension preserve the purist brief of the T variant. Porsche positions this car as a driver’s 911, and none of the bespoke work alters its dynamics. The expectation remains of a responsive, analogue-leaning sports car suited to the varied driving conditions Taiwan is known for.

Fuel consumption for the Carrera T stands at 10.9–10.5 l/100 km WLTP, with CO₂ emissions measuring 248–237 g/km.

Positioning Within Porsche’s Sonderwunsch Strategy

The Formosa project sits within the revived Sonderwunsch programme, which allows customers to co-create personalised one-offs with Porsche’s design and development teams. The offering spans paint development, bespoke upholstery, exterior reworks and even full restorations for older vehicles. The Carrera T Formosa serves as a demonstrative piece—showing how regional identity can be translated into a coherent, production-quality specification.
