Sharper Front, Familiar Silhouette
The 2026 Nissan Teana doesn’t pretend to be all-new, but it looks noticeably fresher. The nose has been reworked with design cues lifted from the brand’s newer EV lineup, specifically the N6 and N7. The headlights now carry a darker tint, the grille stretches wider, and the daytime running lights are shaped in a way that feels more deliberate. Even the lower bumper gets larger air intakes — subtle changes that, together, give the Teana a bit more presence.
From the side, the car is instantly familiar. The roofline, the doors, the proportions — they’re all carried over. What’s different are the alloy wheel designs and, for those who like a bit more flash, an optional two-tone paint scheme. Out back, a new full-width tail light strip with a darkened finish ties into a glowing Nissan badge. The exhaust outlets have been tucked away, giving the rear a cleaner, more understated look.
Same Size, Same Comfort
Dimensionally, nothing radical has changed. The new Teana measures 4,920 mm in length — just 14 mm longer than before — and keeps its 2,825 mm wheelbase. Width and height remain as they were. For buyers, this means the interior space and ride comfort should be just as they remember, which is exactly the point for a sedan in this class.
Engine Choices Remain
Nissan hasn’t touched the formula under the hood. The top option is still the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, putting out 240 hp through a CVT with simulated eight-speed shifts. The base engine is the tried-and-true 2.0-liter naturally aspirated unit with 142 hp, also paired with the CVT. Front-wheel drive is standard across the board.
No hybrid or electric variant is being offered in this update — at least not yet.
Where It Sits in the Market
The Teana continues to compete in the crowded mid-size sedan market in China, where the Toyota Camry and Honda Accord set the pace. Nissan’s approach here is evolutionary rather than revolutionary: update the look, keep the space, preserve the familiar driving feel.
Pricing runs from ¥179,800 to ¥239,800, putting it squarely where buyers expect it to be in the segment.
Looking Ahead
While the cabin hasn’t been shown yet, it’s reasonable to expect some tech and material upgrades to match the exterior refresh. Until then, the 2026 Teana stands as a measured update — cleaner lines, a hint of EV-inspired design language, and the same easygoing sedan formula that’s kept it a steady seller.
