Bolder Look for a Familiar Silhouette
It’s not often a mid-cycle refresh feels this comprehensive, but the 2025 Nissan Qashqai manages to pull it off. Visually and mechanically, it’s more resolved than before. And this time, Nissan’s not shy about leaning into its e-POWER drivetrain—a hybrid system that feels and drives like an EV but doesn’t need charging.
Let’s talk stance first. The proportions haven’t changed dramatically—still a compact SUV—but everything looks tighter. The headlights are now slimmer, the grille more angular, and the floating roof trick remains. It feels like the design team took out the soft lines and added sharper, more grown-up creases. Side on, the shoulder line kicks up just enough to hint at motion.
Compact SUV with Big Presence
From a distance, you could mistake it for a smaller X-Trail. Up close, though, it carries its own identity. The V-motion grille is cleaner, the lower bumpers more sculpted, and depending on trim, the wheels now reach 20 inches. It’s clearly designed for city life but with enough SUV muscle to hold its own next to rivals like the Hyundai Tucson or Peugeot 3008.
e-POWER Delivers EV Feel Without the Plug
Under the hood—or rather, inside the floor—is Nissan’s e-POWER hybrid setup. A 1.5-liter turbo petrol engine charges the battery, which powers a 140 kW electric motor. The result? The wheels are driven only by electric power. You get the smooth acceleration of an EV and the convenience of petrol range. No plug. No wait.
Power delivery is immediate, with 330 Nm of torque, and the new e-Pedal Step system allows near one-pedal driving in traffic. It’s a setup that rewards city dwellers and commuters alike—easy to drive, quiet, and efficient.
Cabin Comfort Meets Digital Upgrade
Inside, things have moved upmarket. Twin 12.3-inch displays now dominate the dash, with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard on higher trims. Materials are upgraded—Alcantara accents, soft-touch surfaces, and ambient lighting give it a premium feel without trying too hard.
Practicality’s still a strong suit. There’s between 504 and 1,447 liters of cargo space depending on seat configuration. Rear legroom is decent, and the rear doors open almost 90 degrees, making child seat installation less of a wrestling match.
Efficient, Sensible, and Still Stylish
Nissan says the new Qashqai emits around 117 g/km of CO₂ and consumes roughly 5.4 liters per 100 km in mixed use. It’s not just a good number—it puts it near the top of its class. Prices are expected to start near €45,000 in Europe, with UK models ranging from around £30,615 to £43,210 depending on trim.
In a crowded segment, the 2025 Nissan Qashqai feels like the clever one—designed for people who want electric performance without electric hassle. A little sharper. A little smarter. Still familiar. Just better.
