Updated Exterior and Grade Expansion
The 2025 Nissan NV200 Barnett arrives with a focused set of upgrades aimed at improving day-to-day usability while keeping its compact commercial-van proportions intact. The base silhouette stays familiar—short overhangs, tall roofline, and a wide opening for easy cargo access—but Nissan has refined functional details across the range.
According to the official release, the model gains door mirrors with power-folding linked to door locking, plus turn-signal lamps integrated into the mirror housing for clearer visibility when maneuvering in tight spaces. This change applies to VX, GX, 16X-2R and 16X-3R grades, as shown in the feature table on page 1.
A new Outdoor Black Edition broadens the lineup. The press images on page 2 show the grade finished in Sand Beige monotone paint paired with black bumpers, door handles, rear-door finisher and steel wheels—a combination that gives the van a more purposeful look, particularly for owners who intend to use it for camping or light outdoor leisure.
Interior Updates and Driver Comfort
For 2025, all seats adopt antibacterial upholstery, and both front seats gain a spinal support function. Nissan’s intention is clear: reduce fatigue during long periods of driving, an important consideration for commercial operators. This improvement is noted in the specifications on page 1 and again in the NMC-related upgrades on page 3.
The cabin layout remains anchored around practicality. The low, flat cargo floor and wide rear aperture—visible in previous NV200 formats and referenced again in the current documentation—continue to define the model’s appeal for fleet use, small businesses and owners with multi-purpose transport needs.
Mechanical Setup and Pricing Structure
The NV200 Barnett continues with the HR16DE petrol engine across all configurations. Transmission options include the familiar Xtronic CVT for 2WD models and 4AT or E-ATx for 4WD variants, depending on grade, as detailed in the price sheet on pages 2 and 5.
Prices start at ¥2,363,900 for the base DX (2WD) and extend to ¥3,131,700 for the GX Outdoor Black Edition (4WD). Additionally, the table verifies seating arrangements, including two-seat commercial layouts, five-seat van formats, and seven-seat 16X-3R variants, providing various configurations for various operational requirements.
Extended Specialty Models
Additionally, Nissan Motor Sports & Customizing (NMC) has matched the 2025 update with its specialty vehicles. The Multi-Bed, Chair Cab, and Work-Use Vehicle series all receive the same safety and mirror improvements as the base van.
The Multi-Bed variant, shown on page 3, gains new CORDURA bed materials when ordered with the GX Outdoor Black Edition base grade. Its fold-up bed system continues to support recreational users carrying large equipment or travelling with pets. The Chair Cab maintains its ramp-equipped accessibility design and is offered in multiple interior layouts accommodating five to seven occupants including wheelchair users.
For commercial operators, the Work-Use lineup includes a refrigerated van, lifter-equipped van, a VX-spec two-seat version, and a VX-styled route van. Specifications and payload details are provided in the table on page 4.
Market Position and User Focus
The 2025 NV200 Barnett enters the market as a refreshed, regulation-compliant compact van with clearer differentiation between personal-use, outdoor-focused and commercial-utility versions. The new Outdoor Black Edition helps it appeal to buyers seeking individuality, while the interior upgrades and safety functions add value across the entire range.
