2025 Nissan Ariya Evolve

By Lorenzo Bianchi

  • Available in single‑motor FWD and dual‑motor AWD (e‑4ORCE), with power ranging up to 225 kW and 600 Nm.

  • Offers 63 kWh or 87 kWh battery options delivering WLTP-rated range from 385 km to 504 km.

  • Pricing starts at AUD 55,840 for the Engage base model; top-tier EVOLVE e‑4ORCE begins around AUD 71,840, offering high-end features and towing capacity.

Australia Gets the Full Line-Up

Nissan confirmed four variants for Australia: Engage, Advance, Advance+, and EVOLVE e‑4ORCE. Orders open September 2025. Both 63 kWh and 87 kWh battery options are on offer, along with FWD and AWD drivetrains. It’s a complete rollout — the same structure seen in other global markets.

The Ariya lands with a more accessible price point than many expected. Engage starts below AUD 56K, with even the flagship EVOLVE undercutting rivals like the Kia EV6 GT-Line AWD.

Familiar Design, Strong Packaging

The Ariya plays it safe on styling. Proportions are clean, with a coupe-SUV profile, LED lighting, and a minimal front fascia. It’s 4,595 mm long and 1,850 mm wide, with a 2,775 mm wheelbase. No surprises here — it fits squarely into the mid-size electric SUV template.

The cabin carries that same approach: restrained, practical, and well-spaced. No odd angles, no flash-for-flash’s-sake. Just flat floors, dual screens, and a decent sense of openness.

Battery and Charging: Two Options, Real Range

Base Engage gets the 63 kWh pack. Everything else runs the larger 87 kWh unit. The result is a range that stretches from 385 km up to 504 km on the WLTP cycle. Even the AWD EVOLVE holds up well with around 487 km.

All trims can AC charge at 22 kW, and DC fast charging maxes out at 130 kW. A 10–80% recharge takes about 35 minutes with the right equipment.

Drive Experience and Performance

Single-motor trims deliver 160–178 kW, with torque between 300 and 330 Nm. AWD EVOLVE uses dual 160 kW motors for a combined 225 kW and 600 Nm. It’s the quick one: 0–100 km/h in about 5.6 seconds.

Engage and Advance+ are closer to 8 seconds flat. Still respectable, especially when paired with instant torque. Top speed across the board is limited to 200 km/h. EVOLVE also offers 1,500 kg of braked towing — a key spec in this segment.

Interior: Well-Sorted and Quietly Premium

Every variant gets twin 12.3-inch displays for dash and infotainment. Apple CarPlay is wireless; Android Auto remains wired. The EVOLVE trim adds Bose audio, ventilated front seats, and memory for driver settings. Ambient lighting and soft-touch surfaces complete the higher-spec experience.

Rear seats fold flat. The boot is usable but not cavernous — typical for an EV built on a crossover platform.

Driver Assistance and Warranty

Nissan’s ProPILOT suite comes standard. That includes adaptive cruise, lane centering, blind-spot alert, and forward emergency braking. A digital rearview mirror and 360° camera show up on upper trims.

Warranty coverage is generous: 10 years or 300,000 km for the car, 8 years or 160,000 km for the battery. Capped-price servicing and roadside support round out the package.

Segment Fit and Strategy

Ariya doesn’t try to lead on specs. It finds its niche with balanced equipment, clean execution, and Nissan's familiar service footprint. It’s cheaper than the Model Y. More polished than the BYD Atto 3. And easier to live with than some of the high-design options that crowd the premium space.

From Engage to EVOLVE, the 2025 Ariya hits a range of price points and priorities. Fleet or private, FWD or AWD, there’s a configuration that works.

Bottom Line

The 2025 Nissan Ariya arrives late to the Australian EV space but lands with purpose. Its line-up is clear. The tech is current. The warranty is long. And the pricing structure makes it a real contender. With specs that matter and features that hold up in daily use, the Ariya gives Nissan a credible foothold in the mid-size EV SUV category.
