A familiar silhouette, sharpened for 2025

The Glam LX builds on the long-running Lexus LX nameplate but takes the design further. The spindle grille remains the focal point, framed by slim LED headlamps and a wide, planted stance. Wheel choices vary with trim — the Luxury and Ultra Luxury sit on 22-inch alloys, while the Overtrail wears 18-inch all-terrain rubber under chunky fenders.

The Overtrail, in particular, makes no secret of its purpose. Skid plates, roof rails, and added body protection signal that this LX isn’t confined to the suburbs. Lexus says the body and drivetrain are sealed against water intrusion, allowing the hybrid to wade through streams up to about 700 mm deep. That figure puts it in line with some of the most capable off-road SUVs on sale today.

Powertrains: gasoline or hybrid

Two versions define the Glam LX lineup.

• LX 600 gasoline: Twin-turbocharged 3.4-liter V6 producing 409 hp and 479 lb-ft of torque. Paired with a 10-speed automatic and full-time 4WD, it reaches 60 mph in just under seven seconds.
• LX 700h hybrid: A more muscular setup rated around 457 hp and 583 lb-ft. The extra torque makes itself known in quicker acceleration (0–60 mph in about 6.4 seconds) and surer towing. Waterproofing on the battery and inverter allows the system to function even after a wet crossing.

Fuel economy remains modest by crossover standards, but for a full-size body-on-frame SUV, the figures are reasonable. The LX 600 manages around 17 mpg city and 22 highway. The hybrid bumps those numbers slightly, though weight still keeps combined efficiency close to 20 mpg.

Both drivetrains can tow up to 8,000 lbs, enough for boats, horse trailers, or a loaded camper.

Inside the cabin

Luxury is where Lexus still stakes its claim. Even the base Premium trim delivers high-grade materials and thoughtful ergonomics. Step into the Luxury or Ultra Luxury versions, and the appointments reach another level: semi-aniline leather, diamond-stitched seats, and real wood accents.

Seating arrangements vary by trim. Most versions accommodate seven, while the Ultra Luxury opts for a four-seat layout with reclining rear captain’s chairs and ottomans. Massaging, heating, and ventilation are available in front and rear, paired with ambient lighting and rear entertainment screens.

Up front, a 12.3-inch central touchscreen anchors the infotainment suite. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and the driver faces a full digital cluster. Lexus also equips the Glam LX with an upgraded suite of driver-assist features, including curve-aware adaptive cruise, emergency steering assist, and a head-up display.

Overtrail: luxury with mud on its boots

The Overtrail is the most distinctive of the trims. Beyond the visible upgrades — fenders, skid plates, roof rails — it carries serious mechanical hardware. Front and rear differential locks, low-range gearing, and all-terrain tires put it firmly in off-road territory.

One notable feature of the hybrid Overtrail is its power inverter. It can deliver up to 2,400 watts externally, allowing owners to run tools, camp gear, or other equipment straight from the SUV’s battery pack. That dual role — luxury transport and mobile power station — marks the Glam LX as a versatile entry in its segment.
