Exeed’s Extended-Range Flagship
The 2025 Exeed Sterra ES marks a clear turning point for the brand — a sedan engineered for distance, refinement, and quiet confidence. It’s the first model in Exeed’s lineup to adopt a fully developed extended-range system, bridging the space between traditional EVs and hybrids with impressive reach and composure.
Launched with four variants priced between 152,800 and 209,800 yuan, the Sterra ES is powered by a 1.5T range extender paired with one or two electric motors. The figures tell a compelling story: 255 km of pure electric range, and an astonishing 1,645 km combined driving distance under CLTC testing. That’s the sort of figure that turns range anxiety into an afterthought.
Design with Purpose
Visually, the Sterra ES doesn’t shout. Its front end is shaped around a through-type LED light bar that stretches from corner to corner, underlined by a sealed grille and subtle air intakes integrated into the bumper. The proportions are clean and deliberate — 4,945 mm long, 1,978 mm wide, 1,480 mm tall, with a 3,000 mm wheelbase — giving it a stance that feels stable and purposeful without resorting to unnecessary drama.
The fastback silhouette gives the car a sense of motion even at rest. Subtle creases over the fenders emphasize width, while concealed door handles and 19-inch low-drag wheels
help streamline airflow. A full-width LED taillight bar atop a neat
rear deck descends from the roofline around the back. The result is
clean and contemporary, with a subtle elegance that seems more
international than local.
Comfort and Interior Technology
The interior of the cabin has a minimalist design that emphasizes light and screens.A 15.6-inch 2.5K floating touchscreen dominates the dash, paired with an 8.2-inch digital cluster and a two-spoke steering wheel trimmed in soft-touch materials. The system runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8295P chip, giving it the power to handle the Lion AI voice assistant with four-zone interaction and swift on-screen response.
The Summit and higher trims bring a long list of luxury touches: ventilated, heated, and massaging front seats, driver’s seat memory, and heated rear seating. Crystal ambient lighting runs through the cabin, while the continuous light strip across the console gives the interior a calm, upscale tone.
Power and Intelligent Systems
The Sterra ES is powered by Exeed’s Falcon Intelligent Driving System, backed by dual NVIDIA DRIVE ORIN X chips with 508 TOPS of processing power. Thirty sensors feed into the system to enable highway and city navigation assistance, automatic parking, and remote-control parking.
Performance varies by configuration. The rear-drive version delivers 195 kW and 324 Nm, while the dual-motor AWD variant produces 345 kW and 634 Nm, capable of sprinting from 0–100 km/h in 4.6 seconds. Both use lithium iron phosphate batteries—34.7 kWh in RWD models and 41.16 kWh in AWD—supporting that consistent 255 km pure-electric range. Fuel consumption sits at 4.9 L/100 km on the WLTC cycle, and the 1.5T engine achieves a 44.5% thermal efficiency, impressive even by hybrid standards.
Underneath, the double-wishbone front and five-link rear suspension keeps the ride composed, aided by an adaptive “cloud” chassis system that actively balances comfort and stability.
