First-Ever CS Wagon: What Took So Long?
It’s been years of waiting—and hoping—but BMW has finally dropped the 2025 BMW M3 CS Touring G81, and it doesn't disappoint. It’s the first time the CS badge has made its way onto a Touring model, and the results are predictably unhinged. Track-day performance, family-hauling practicality, and limited-run bragging rights all in one long-roof package.
Subtle It Is Not
Visually, this thing pulls zero punches. The carbon-fiber front splitter sits low and wide, the vented carbon hood brings aggression, and the stance is pure M-division muscle. You get carbon everything—roof, mirror caps, interior bits—and 20 kg shaved off compared to the regular M3 Touring. Small numbers, big difference when you're pushing hard.
Wheel setup is staggered: 19s up front, 20s out back, wrapped in sticky Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2s. It’s not just about speed—it’s about grip, rotation, and response.
More Power, More Focus
Under the hood, it borrows from the M4 CSL. That means a 3.0-liter twin-turbo inline-six with 543 hp (that’s 40 hp more than the M3 Competition Touring) and 650 Nm of torque. There’s no manual option—only the 8-speed M Steptronic, and honestly, that’s the right call here. It puts power down via M xDrive with the usual rear-wheel-drive override if you want tail-out antics.
This isn’t a wagon that softens the blow. It sharpens the edge.
Interior: Alcantara, Buckets, and Purpose
Inside, it’s equal parts hardcore and high-spec. M Carbon bucket seats hug you like a race harness. Red accents and CS branding remind you this isn’t just a loaded 3 Series. BMW’s curved display dominates the dash, but it doesn’t distract—it’s there to inform, not perform party tricks.
Center console’s been lightened, and there’s Alcantara just about everywhere your hands land. It’s not flashy. It’s focused.
Who’s It Up Against?
Obvious comparisons include the Audi RS4 Avant and AMG C63 S Estate—but this one’s different. No hybrid bloat. No soft touch. Just straight-up turbo power, AWD control, and a clear line to BMW’s motorsport heritage.
It’s not just rare—it’s purist. Production is capped at 1,700 units globally. Pricing hasn’t dropped officially, but with the M3 CS sedan nudging past six figures, expect the Touring to nudge even harder.
