2025 Audi SQ6 Sportback e-tron AU516 UK Version

By Lorenzo Bianchi

  • 509 horsepower, dual-motor quattro system, and sport-tuned suspension make the SQ6 the sharpest-driving Q6 variant.

  • EPA-estimated 283-mile range with 270 kW DC fast charging keeps it travel-friendly.

  • Coupe-like Sportback design adds visual punch and aerodynamic edge to Audi’s electric lineup.

Sleek Design with Purpose

At a glance, the 2025 SQ6 Sportback e-tron carries itself differently from the standard Q6 e-tron. The roofline dives a bit earlier, tapering into a sportier rear end that gives it a more planted, athletic silhouette. It’s a small change in height—just 37 mm—but visually, it transforms the stance. It feels closer to an S5 Sportback in spirit than a family crossover.

Audi’s designers kept the look clean. The front end is still upright and wide, with signature e-tron detailing and those digital light modules adding some personality. The side surfacing stays tight, and it doesn’t shout. It’s confident in a quiet, very Audi kind of way.

Power and Agility to Match

The SQ6 doesn’t just look the part. With dual electric motors—one front, one rear—it delivers up to 509 hp when launch control is active. That’s a healthy bump over the regular Q6 e-tron and enough to push this midsize EV SUV to 60 mph in the mid-four-second range, based on European specs. Top speed? 143 mph, which should be more than most drivers will ever need.

All that power is channeled through Audi’s quattro all-wheel-drive system, and the air suspension helps keep things level in corners while softening up in comfort mode. There’s also rear-axle torque vectoring and multiple drive modes to tweak responsiveness depending on how you're driving—or what kind of road you're on.

Range and Charging

Battery-wise, the SQ6 Sportback uses the same 100 kWh unit (94.4 kWh usable) found in the standard Q6 lineup. Audi quotes an EPA-estimated range of 283 miles—solid for this performance tier.

It also charges quickly. Thanks to 800-volt architecture and a max DC charging rate of 270 kW, you can top up from 10 to 80% in around 21 minutes under ideal conditions. Audi’s preconditioning system helps the battery hit optimal temps before you arrive at a charging station, which makes fast-charging more consistent.

Cabin Tech and Feel

Inside, the SQ6 Sportback sticks to Audi’s digital-first approach. A big curved MMI display runs across the dash, and there's a separate screen for the front passenger. Fit and finish remain high-end, as expected. Materials feel solid, and there’s ambient lighting throughout to set the tone.

Audi has also integrated Android Automotive OS, meaning apps like Spotify and Google Maps are native. An augmented reality head-up display is optional, and yes—you can play video games on the screen while parked thanks to AirConsole.

It feels both premium and practical, especially with a decent rear seat and usable cargo area despite the sloping roof.
