2025 Audi E7X

By Lorenzo Bianchi

  • E7X adopts Audi’s new EV design language with ring-shaped lighting.

  • Two versions confirmed: single-motor RWD and dual-motor quattro AWD.

  • Global premiere set for the 2026 Beijing Auto Show.

Design and Proportions of the Vehicle

Audi has released the first official images of the 2027 Audi E7X, following its registration with China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. The model stays remarkably close to the recent E-SUV concept, carrying forward the brand’s shift toward simplified surfaces, geometric lighting signatures, and closed aerodynamic front ends.

Press images show the car sitting long and low for an electric SUV of this footprint. At 5049 mm in length and 1997 mm in width, the proportions lean more toward a crossover-GT silhouette than a traditional upright utility vehicle. The 3060 mm wheelbase contributes to a stretched profile, and the roofline drops subtly toward the rear without compromising stance.

The details, however, are what define the E7X. The ring-shaped headlights introduce a new signature element for Audi’s EV lineup, framing the daytime running lamps and reinforcing visual identity at distance. Below them, the vertically arranged digital matrix LED modules serve as adaptive communication elements—capable of projecting high-resolution patterns and scene-based signals to pedestrians or other road users. A closed grille spans the front fascia, finishing the new look with a technical, almost architectural clarity.

At the rear, matching ring-shaped taillights mirror the front graphic, unifying the car’s identity.

Performance and Powertrain Overview

Audi will offer the E7X in two configurations. The rear-wheel-drive model delivers 300 kW and 500 Nm, using a single high-output motor. The quattro version adds a second unit at the front, producing 200 kW, while the rear remains at 300 kW, for a combined system torque of 800 Nm.

No range or battery specifications were provided in the current documentation. [Unverified]

The powertrain options place the E7X in the territory of performance-oriented electric SUVs, likely aimed at competitors offering dual-motor outputs in the 350–450 kW range.

Key Features and Interior Impression

However, the emphasis on lighting technology suggests the cabin will continue Audi’s trend toward cinematic illumination and broad digital interfaces. [Inference]

Given the vehicle’s dimensions and premium positioning, it is reasonable to expect a focus on long-distance comfort and a flexible seating arrangement suited to both families and executive buyers. [Inference]

Market Positioning and Segment Context

The E7X is confirmed for its official public debut at the 2026 Beijing International Auto Show, with market launch expected in the first half of 2026.

As Audi’s second EV built under its evolving design language, the E7X signals the brand’s intent to expand aggressively in the upper-mid electric SUV category—particularly in China, where design recognition and lighting technology play major roles in purchase decisions.
