2025 Arcfox Alpha T5 EREV
By Lorenzo Bianchi October 11, 2025
New 1.5L range extender boosts total driving range to 1,215 km.
Pure electric range rated at 215 km under CLTC testing.
Minor exterior tweaks set it apart from the all-electric Alpha T5.
Official images reveal a design nearly identical to the pure electric Alpha T5, but with enough visual tweaks to set it apart. The front and rear bumpers have been subtly reshaped, and the internal light structure within the headlights has been redesigned — the kind of change you notice once you’ve seen both versions side by side. The proportions remain familiar: long and wide, with a planted stance and clean shoulder lines that carry through to the taillights. It’s a confident, modern silhouette that leans more toward premium minimalism than rugged utility.
Design Subtlety and Dimension Tweaks
At 4,760 mm long, 1,936 mm wide, and 1,650 mm high, the new Alpha T5 EREV has grown slightly — 70 mm longer than the pure electric model — though its 2,845 mm wheelbase remains the same. It rides on 19-inch wheels wrapped in 235/50 R19 tires, maintaining a balanced visual ratio between cabin and stance. The extended dimensions aren’t just for show; they likely help accommodate the new range-extending hardware under the skin.
Hybrid Power, Electric Character
The main difference lies beneath the surface. Powering the 2026 Arcfox Alpha T5 EREV is a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine rated at 77 kW, which acts solely as a generator. Driving force comes from a 200 kW electric motor producing 360 Nm of torque. The setup allows for 215 km of pure electric range under CLTC conditions and an impressive 1,215 km combined range when the range extender is in play. Fast charging can bring the battery from 30% to 80% in just 15 minutes, keeping it competitive within the growing EREV segment.
These figures place it firmly in the hunt against models like the Changan Qiyuan Q07 and Landian E5 Plus, which occupy similar price territory. The Alpha T5’s starting price for the pure EV sits around 119,800 yuan, and the extended-range version may undercut that slightly, broadening its appeal to cost-conscious buyers looking for long-distance practicality.
A Calculated Move
Arcfox’s pure electric Alpha T5 has already proven itself domestically, with over 3,200 units sold in August alone, making it a strong performer in its class. Adding an extended-range version isn’t a departure — it’s a calculated expansion of the brand’s footprint.
