Visual Updates and Exterior Design
The 2024 Hyundai i20 UK Version has a new look that enhances the hatchback's distinctiveness without changing its small size. Standard LED headlights add to a more assured light signature, and a redesigned bumper and updated radiator grille give the front a cleaner, more organized appearance. Around the back, Hyundai has reworked the rear bumper and introduced Z-shaped LED taillamps, giving the i20 a more distinctive night-time presence.
Newly designed 16- and 17-inch alloy wheels add definition to the side profile, and the colour palette expands to nine exterior finishes. Three colours—Lucid Lime Metallic, Lumen Grey Pearl and Meta Blue Pearl—are entirely new, joined by familiar options such as Atlas White, Phantom Black Pearl and Vibrant Blue Pearl. An optional black two-tone roof remains available, visually lowering the car and adding a subtle custom look.
Interior Design and Connectivity
Inside, the i20 continues to prioritise space efficiency and clarity of layout. Despite its B-segment footprint, boot capacity remains a competitive 352 litres with the rear seats up, extending to 1,165 litres when folded. Hyundai introduces a new Lucid Lime interior colour pack, featuring revised seat patterns with bold vertical lines and contrasting lime stitching, adding visual energy without overwhelming the cabin.
Connectivity is a core strength. USB-C ports are now standard, and over-the-air map updates are introduced alongside familiar features such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. From Premium trim upwards, a 10.25-inch touchscreen navigation system is paired with a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. Hyundai’s Bluelink telematics system is also included, offering remote vehicle functions and diagnostics through a smartphone app.
Powertrain and Driving Character
The UK lineup has been simplified for 2024, with all models powered by a single engine: a 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbocharged petrol unit producing 100 PS. Buyers can choose between a six-speed manual transmission or a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic. The focus is not outright performance, but smooth response and efficiency, making the i20 well suited to urban driving and longer motorway journeys.
Suspension and steering hardware remain unchanged, favouring comfort and predictable handling rather than sporty aggression. Hyundai has not announced any electrified variant for the UK i20 range at this stage [Unverified].
Safety Equipment and Trim Structure
Safety specification is extensive across all trims. Standard Hyundai SmartSense features include Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist with pedestrian and cyclist detection, Lane Keep Assist, Lane Follow Assist, Intelligent Speed Limit Warning and eCall. Optional systems such as Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist and Navigation-based Smart Cruise Control are available on higher trims.
