2008 Lamborghini Reventon

By Lorenzo Bianchi

  • Just 20 coupes built—each scored nearly €1 million, all stamped and numbered.

  • Powered by a 6.5 L V12 producing 650 hp—0–100 km/h in 3.4 seconds, top speed ~340 km/h.

  • Fighter‑jet design cues underpin the aesthetic—sharp angles, matte finish, jet‑style wheels.

Apex Predator Styling

The 2008 Lamborghini Reventón hit Frankfurt in 2007 looking like a stealth jet on wheels. The design is unapologetically angular—flat facets, sharp edges—and clad entirely in matte carbon‑fibre. Unlike other Lambos, this one didn’t lean on curves; it stood tall with edges. The cockpit hunkers low, and the twin scissor doors open like wings. Every panel feels ripped straight from the F‑22, no doubt by intent. Those turbine‑style forged wheels? They scream aerospace.

Stalks the Road with Aggression

Despite the sculptural design, it’s more than show. The nose is low, splitter tight—tight enough to scrape, probably. Side intakes shout airflow—and they move with the active aero system at speed. And the stance? Muscular. Wide track, short overhangs, and purposeful drop. Look at the rear diffuser and you'd swear it was made in a wind tunnel helping downforce.

Heart of a Beast

Under that glass‑pane engine cover sits a potent 6.5‑litre V12 borrowed from the Murciélago LP 640—but tuned harder for this one. It delivers 650 hp and 660 Nm of torque. Stops aren’t weak either: four‑wheel ventilated discs hidden behind carbon blades. AWD keeps traction pinned. Official sprint time is 3.4 seconds, with a claimed 340 km/h top speed. But whisper has it that one Reventón cracked 358 km/h in testing.

Cockpit: Jet‑Inspired Feel

Step inside and you’re in a cockpit, not a car cabin. Three TFT screens sit in a solid billet‑aluminium binnacle wrapped in carbon. One shows g‑forces—yes, actual G‑meter. Seats are black leather with khaki Alcantara. The wheel and dash evoke a jetliner, not an L‑shape dash. No fluff, just flight‑ready focus.

Limited Competitive Ghost

Only 20 units were made, plus a museum mule. No normal Murciélago, no LP670, no Urus—this was exclusivity dialed to 11. Does it compete with Pagani? Maybe. But not directly. It’s more a statement. A car that said Lamborghini was talking to its collectors in a very specific tone: “We still dream in angles.”
