1994 Tuthill Porsche 911 SCRS

By Lorenzo Bianchi

  • Signature power upgrade: Standard 3.6‑litre flat‑six enlarged to 3.8 litres, now delivering over 330 bhp, with MoTeC electronics and a high‑butterfly intake system.

  • Rally‑redux design: Retains 993 usability while adopting Group B SC/RS styling—lightened shell, steel arches and fibreglass bumpers, and whale‑tail spoiler.

  • Limited‑run restomod: Only 15 SCRS cars produced, aimed at blending road‑trip comfort with visceral, early‑era 911 dynamics.

Built for Both Rally Roads and Long Drives

The Tuthill Porsche 911 SCRS takes a 1994 993 Carrera and transforms it into something markedly more adventurous. Tuthill strips the shell to bare metal, blasts and reinforces it, then adds steel SC/RS-style arches and fibreglass bumpers for that Group B aesthetic. Yet beneath the visual flair lies a comfortable daily driver. The upgrades deliver a balanced mix: rally‑inspired look with 993 refinement—where NVH (noise, vibration, harshness) and suspension manners remain road-friendly.

Powertrain That Honours Tradition While Punching Up Performance

Tuthill increased the engine displacement to 3.8 litres, installing pistons, forged rods, Cup camshaft, and RS components like flywheel and throttle bodies. Performance now exceeds 330 bhp, managed by a MoTeC ECU and high-butterfly intake. Fitment includes a rebuilt six-speed manual with RS clutch center plate and a limited-slip differential.

Handling Upgraded for Active Driving, Not Just Appearance

The SCRS doesn’t stop at power. It rolls on bespoke 16‑inch RSR Fuchs-style wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tyres. Suspension is handled by two-way adjustable MCS dampers, brakes feature Tuthill’s own billet calipers, and the duo softens the ride without blunting handling.

Interior Blends Rally Ancestry with Modern Touring Comfort

Inside, the cabin combines vintage and contemporary touches. It’s lightly trimmed in pinning shades: Ocean Green leather, Charcoal Grey details, spineybeck weaving, Savannah headlining—authentically Porsche yet tailored. Equipment crosses the comfort line: Recaro sport seats, a carbon RS steering wheel, custom sound system, air conditioning, and Bluetooth audio.

A Piece of Limited Edition Porsche History

This build—the very first of only 15 SCRS units—was intended to channel the spirit of the SC/RS rally car while remaining usable for hundreds of miles a day. It’s a rare restomod that doesn’t obscure its 993 roots or sacrifice comfort.
