2025 Toyota Sequoia TRD Pro WaveMaker

By Team Dailyrevs

  • The 2025 Toyota Sequoia TRD Pro introduces a new exclusive color, Wave Maker, a vibrant blue developed by Toyota's CALTY Design team.

  • Wave Maker will be available on TRD Pro versions of the Sequoia, 4Runner, Tacoma, and Tundra, with models expected to arrive at dealerships in fall 2025.

  • This marks the eleventh unique TRD Pro color since 2015, continuing Toyota's tradition of offering distinctive hues for its off-road-focused models.

A Fresh Coat of Adventure

Toyota isn’t reworking the whole truck this time, but it’s making a visual splash with Wave Maker, a new blue color developed in-house by CALTY Design. It’s a cool, glacial kind of tone — the sort of shade that looks even better covered in trail dust.

The 2025 Toyota Sequoia TRD Pro wears it confidently, giving off the vibe that this full-size SUV isn’t just about muscle and function. There’s style here, too, and Toyota knows its audience well enough to let color play a bigger role than you’d expect in the off-road space.

A Decade of Bold TRD Pro Colors

This isn’t just a one-off color gimmick. Wave Maker becomes the 11th exclusive TRD Pro shade since Toyota kicked off this tradition back in 2015 with Inferno.

Since then, we’ve seen Quicksand, Voodoo Blue, Army Green — the kind of colors that help you pick out a TRD Pro in a crowd. And yeah, that’s the point. Toyota’s not trying to blend in here.

According to Benjamin Jimenez from CALTY’s Ann Arbor team, Wave Maker pulls inspiration from “unexplored areas of adventure,” even hinting at planetary extremes. Sure, it sounds dramatic — but the color does have a bit of that cosmic depth to it.

More Than Just the Sequoia

While this debut centers around the Sequoia TRD Pro, Wave Maker isn’t exclusive to it. The color will also show up on the Tacoma, Tundra, and 4Runner TRD Pro models for the 2025 model year. Expect to see all four rolling into showrooms by fall 2025.

And no — it won’t affect any of the trucks' specs or gear. Underneath, you’re still getting the same hybrid-powered muscle, off-road suspension, skid plates, and high-clearance bumpers the TRD Pro badge promises.

Not Just Paint — It's Personality

Wave Maker might seem like a minor update on paper, but in TRD Pro circles, these colors carry weight.

They’re a quiet flex. A nod to the Toyota fans who know the difference between Cement Gray and Magnetic Gray, and who remember when Lunar Rock was the hot ticket.

The 2025 Sequoia TRD Pro doesn't need major overhauls this time around. It just needed a new vibe — and Wave Maker delivers that without saying much at all.
