The occasion is the arrival on the market of the first electrified version of JUKE, the Nissan crossover coupé that gave birth to the B-SUV segment.

Hybrid engine of the series car

For this new JUKE Rally version, the engine from the production version was chosen, which offers high performance, high efficiency and low emissions. Nissan’s new generation thermal unit, specially developed for hybrid applications, delivers 94hp and 148Nm torque. The electric motor, also developed by Nissan, has 49hp and 205Nm torque. The engine also consists of a starter / generator, that is a small 15kW electric motor and a 1.2kWh liquid-cooled battery. Performance increases by 25% compared to the petrol version, with a reduction in consumption of around 40% in the urban cycle and up to 20% in the combined cycle. (Data pending approval)

Multi-mode automatic gearbox

The transmission is also that of the production version. This is the innovative multi-mode gearbox that allows the power to be discharged to the ground with linearity and promptness, for a pleasant ride in any situation. The ratios are in all 6, the first 2 gears in electric and the following 4 in thermal mode. In the coupling with the thermal engine there are neither clutch nor synchronizers, which reduces friction and makes driving much smoother.

The gearbox is controlled by an advanced algorithm that manages shift points, battery regeneration and series-parallel architecture quickly and automatically based on the required power.

JUKE Hybrid Rally Tribute inspired by rally raids

Like the Gripz concept presented at the Frankfurt Motorshow in 2015, which anticipated JUKE, the design details of the Rally version are taken from the iconic 240Z model, author of great successes in rally racing over fifty years ago.

The most noticeable external changes concern the increased wheel arches to accommodate the special off-road tires and the additional lights mounted on the hood and on the roof.

2022 Nissan Juke Hybrid Rally Tribute Concept Front View 3/4

The black bonnet, the oversized rims, the vintage logos and the number 11 are a tribute to the 240Z of 1971, engaged in the East African Rally. Reinforced plates under the front and rear skirts protect the body bottom, while reinforced long-travel suspension and 265/70 R16 tires allow JUKE Hybrid Rally to move easily even on the most demanding dirt roads.

The interior has been modified with the addition of a roll bar to give greater rigidity to the car body and protection to the driver and co-driver. The front seats are sporty with four-point seat belts, while the rear seats have been removed to make room for the spare wheels.
