Disruptive design, driving pleasure at the highest levels thanks to the TNGA platform, the innovative technology of the fourth generation hybrid and the standard safety thanks to Toyota Safety Sense were the elements behind the success of this model, which it represents today. the  best-selling hybrid SUV on the market  with over 60,000 cars sold in Italy since its launch in 2016.

With the C-HR, Toyota has presented itself in a completely new way in the compact crossover segment, characterized by a rapidly growing sales trend and a constant search for new trends and original and innovative lines.

The latter are the basis of the new GR SPORT version which now adds a more decisive exterior and interior style to the already surprising appearance of the C-HR.

The new bodywork features an updated version of Toyota Safety Sense, which incorporates a number of new active safety features, making the C-HR as safe as it is engaging to drive.

Alcantara®, combined with leather, dresses the seats in Dark Black with embroidery of parallel lines in the central part in contrasting red and light gray inspired by GR, whose nuances recall the logo. The presence of the material enhances the sporty character of the set-up, combining technical performance (such as grip in fast driving conditions, resistance, breathability and lightness) with elegance and maximum driving comfort, while respecting the environment. Alcantara, thanks to the fact that it has been Carbon Neutral since 2009, does not add any further carbon dioxide emissions.

Further bespoke elements include a perforated leather steering wheel rim, contrasting red stitching on both the steering wheel and gearshift gaiter, dedicated door sills, GR SPORT logo, a GR stop / start button and a GR start animation in TFT instrument panel screen in front of the driver.

Equipment

Other features of the GR SPORT also include tinted windows, smart entry, Full LED headlights, navigator, folding car rearview mirrors, electric operation and heating of the front seats and an exceptional JBL audio system.

Driving dynamics

The tires and suspension system and steering adjustment have been designed to significantly improve the dynamic behavior of the GR SPORT, while maintaining the ride comfort levels of the rest of the C-HR range.

The car is equipped with premium tires, the new 19-inch Continental Premium Contact 6 (225/45) which increase front axle grip levels and cornering stiffness, resulting in better yaw resistance and less understeer when subjected to the same G forces. The new tire is also lighter than the current 18-inch tire and delivers the same rolling resistance and similar CO 2 emissions as  the vehicle.

TOYOTA SAFETY SENSE updated

The C-HR GR SPORT will be equipped with the latest version of Toyota Safety Sense – a set of active safety technologies designed to help prevent or mitigate collisions in a wide range of traffic situations.

Several new features have been added to the Pre-Collision System (PCS), including Emergency Steering Assist (ESA) linked to Daytime Pedestrian Recognition and Turn Assist at intersections.

The Road Intersection Assist provides warning and automatic braking if the driver turns into an oncoming vehicle in the oncoming lane, or a pedestrian crossing the road from the opposite direction after the turn.

In addition, the C-HR also benefits from the Lane Trace Assist (LTA) system which helps to keep the vehicle on track and centered in the lane, and if it judges that there is a risk of the vehicle moving out of its path, it will apply a force to the steering wheel to help the driver avoid lane departure.

Further new driver support and safety enhancement systems include Full Range Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), combined with Road Sign Assist and Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control, which allows you to easily adapt your cruising speed to the speed indicated by the road signs.
