About the Car

2020 Porsche Cayenne Coupe

With the introduction of the new Cayenne Coupe, Porsche is extending the family of the third generation of its successful five-door, four wheel-drive sports car with a more sporting derivative. “The Coupé includes all the technical highlights of the current Cayenne, and its more dynamic design and new technical details position it as more progressive, athletic, and emotional,” says Oliver Blume, Chairman of the Executive Board of Porsche AG.

Key highlights of the new Cayenne model include sharper styling with a unique rear body section, an adaptive rear spoiler, a rear bench with the characteristics of two individual seats, and two different roof styles – a panoramic fixed glass roof fitted as standard, and an optional carbon-fibre roof.

A steeply sloping roof line creates purposeful elegance

Dynamic proportions combine with custom design elements to lend the new Cayenne Coupé a distinctly purposeful elegance. “The distinctive roof flyline that falls away to the rear makes the Porsche Cayenne Coupé appear more dynamic, and positions it as the most sporting-looking model in the market segment,” says Michael Mauer, Vice President Style Porsche.

That effect is supported by a roof spoiler, which accentuates the distinctive Coupé silhouette. The front windscreen and A-pillar are shallower than in the Cayenne, courtesy of a roof that has been lowered by around 20 mm. Redesigned rear doors and wheel arches broaden the shoulders of the car by 18 mm, contributing to an overall muscular stance. The rear number plate is integrated into the bumper, making the vehicle seem closer to the ground.

The adaptive roof spoiler fitted to the current Cayenne Turbo saw the Porsche become the first SUV to feature this type of active aerodynamics. The new Cayenne Coupé further develops this technology. On each Porsche Cayenne Coupé model, a fixed roof spoiler is combined with a new adaptive rear spoiler located beneath the tailgate window as part of Porsche Active Aerodynamics (PAA). The spoiler – harmoniously integrated into the silhouette – extends by 135 mm at speeds of 56 mph (90 km/h) and over, increasing the aerodynamic pressure on the rear axle, while PAA simultaneously enhances efficiency.

Large panoramic fixed glass roof fitted as standard, with a carbon roof option

The new Porsche Cayenne Coupé comes with a 2.16 m2 panoramic fixed glass roof as standard. The 0.92 m2 glazed area gives all passengers an extraordinary sense of space, while the integrated roller blind protects against sun exposure and colder weather.

A contoured carbon roof is available for the Coupé as an option. The centre seam styling motif gives the roof a characteristic appearance, similar to that of the Porsche 911 GT3 RS. The carbon roof is available in one of three optional lightweight sports packages. These also include new, lightweight, 22-inch diameter GT Design alloy wheels, Sport Design styling features, seat centres in classic checked fabric material, and carbon and Alcantara interior trim accents. For the Cayenne Turbo Coupé, the package also includes a sports exhaust system.

Comfort on the road with four sports seats

The new Porsche Cayenne Coupé offers plenty of space for up to four people as standard. In the front, new eight-way sports seats with integrated head rests offer exceptional comfort and optimum lateral support. Rear passengers sit 30 mm lower than in the Cayenne, meaning there is plenty of headroom despite the vehicle’s sleeker silhouette. A rear bench that has the characteristics of two individual seats further differentiates the Coupé. Alternatively, comfort rear seats – a familiar feature of the Cayenne – can be ordered at no additional cost.

The boot capacity is 625 litres – ideal for everyday use – and rises to 1,540 litres when the rear seats are folded down (Cayenne Turbo Coupé: 600 to 1,510 litres).

Choice of 340 PS and 550 PS turbocharged engines

The highly dynamic design and custom styling elements of the new Cayenne Coupé truly set it apart from the Cayenne. At the same time, it benefits from all the technical highlights of the third model generation, which features powerful drive systems, innovative chassis systems, a digital display and operating concept, and comprehensive connectivity.

A choice of two high-performance engines are available at launch. The Porsche Cayenne Coupé with a 3.0-litre V6 turbocharged engine delivers 340 PS (250 kW) and maximum torque of 450 Nm. The Sport Chrono Package fitted as standard sees the standard sprint from 0-62 mph achieved in 6.0 seconds, with this figure dropping to 5.9 seconds with the optional lightweight sports packages. Top speed is 150 mph. Combined fuel consumption ranges between 22.2 mpg – 23.9 mpg; and combined CO2 emissions 215 – 212 g/km.

The top-of-the-range Cayenne Turbo Coupé goes to the starting line with a 4.0-litre V8 engine with twin-turbocharging, 550 PS (404 kW), and maximum torque of 770 Nm. The Cayenne Turbo Coupé can accelerate from 0-62 mph in 3.9 seconds, and on to a top speed of 177 mph where permitted.
